I think its such a turn off....
AND its a pet peeve of mine.
Okay, you are fit. Congrats...and that IS good... but I mean, for one, your photo cropped only to the torso looks like every other fit person's torso.

That and i think it is kind of arrogant.
Not to mention lame, in my opinion.

Am I the only girl who doesn't get impressed by this?

It doesn't nothing for me either. I get that you want to look good, but please.

Anyway, I go more for the 'tortured genius' look. Dark and intense, not fit :o

  • I can honestly say I've never been guilty of posting a picture of my abs. Or, indeed, of having abs to post pictures of. :p Cartoon hands and/or ridiculous facial expressions always worked for me.

But I can say that girls posing like two-dollar whores in bikinis with screen names like "Stacy Sex1064" don't impress me. I presume they're the female equivalent?

    yep...
does the whole sassy shot from above impress you?
i never do that, its over-done... i dont get it.

but yes anyways, very much the equivalent. i like nice abs as much as you probably enjoy nice boobs, but no need for anyone to go whoring themselves cheaply over the internets.

Artificially, obviously posed pics in general look stupid to me... I prefer when it's just a random pic taken by friends at a party or something like that. When I see someone with a stupidly posed pic - that was obviously taken by themselves after practicing in front of their mirror for half an hour - I just laugh. :p

Of course... this is coming from the guy whose profile pic right now is this: http://file045a.bebo.com/0/large/2008/06/03/01/421913591a7921475348l.jpg

Guys who spend so much time in the gym to get so physically fit, are not good for women. They are so wrapped up in the male form, that it becomes an obsession with them. They spend more time looking at themselves in the mirror, that that cannot and do not appreciate the curves of a woman. Their male obsession causes them to have latent homosexual tendencies and they not be pleased, except with a male of similar physique.
Therefore, ladies... if you want a great lover... one who spends his day thinking about women... you are much better off finding a guy that doesn't spend every spare hour admiring themselves in the mirrors of the gym. Instead, find a nice guy that might be a little soft around the belly... like an Oracle Database Administrator for example. I... er.. I mean, He is not that concerned about himself and will concentrate his affections towards you.

I kinda get what everyone is saying, yet I wish my abs were good enough to take a picture of :o
I agree natural pictures are maybe better than posed ones, but I don't agree with attacking someone because they like to stay in shape.
If someone wants to stay in shape, why does that make them conceited, or wrapped up in themselves ? There's plenty of people post pictures of say, a tatoo. And that's fine, but still, kinda easier to go out get a tatoo than a good set of abs.
Fact is, a lot of us are a little jealous because we don't have the dedication it takes to keep in great shape, me included, just I'll admit it :o

nothing wrong with staying in shape like Jamie says, but those guys who feel the need to post pictures of their rock hard abs on facebook are total wankbags.

I'm sure some are buddy, but you know what? I've seen pics of people from here on myspace, and there's not an ab within an 8 inch thick flabby beer gut, yet...you know some of those are total 'wank-bags' as you put it.......there's an old cliche about books and covers, it's a very useful thought to keep in our heads.
    :o

i agree but it becomes a little pathetic if one believes their best asset is their stomach muscles....and one doesn't need to have a six pack to be in shape so i don't see the bonus in having them :o

agreed, but then put it like that and a tattoo is really a pathetic thing to be someones 'best assett', yet we readily accept pics of those and say how wowza and cool they are :o
I want a six pack and I don't give a shit who knows, who sees, who doesn't see, I want one for my own satisfaction I never had one, I'm getting there, and it's hard fucking work....much harder than getting a tattoo, or a beer gut (which I did have), or a beard !! (which I've also had :D )
