so one of my jobs i work at a dept store and theres this one lady who steals clothes, then brings it back without a reciept, and long story short gets money back. she gets away with it all the time, because unless we catch her on camera we can't prosecute her (and when she walks in with the clothing from outside we can't prove that she's been stealing it - tho all the stores in the area know who she is and know she's been getting away with it)
anyways, she was doing an 'exchange' at one till when one of my coworkers recognized her pulling off the scam, immediately called security who called the security from the Bay (other dept store in our mall)... they met her at one door and my friend in security started going, "hey JoaN! How's it going Joan! We'll see ya later Joan!" and they ended up flustering her and she left the store immediately... to which they followed her into the parking lot and she got in her car, was really shaken up and accidentally plowed into the car behind her!
then she took off, they got her licence plate number and informed police, who went to her house to serve her with a charge of hit and run! and the back of her car is totaled.
but the sad thing is, this was ALL infront of her GRANDCHILDREN!

Grammys gota pay for that crack some how!

"What a sick, masochistic lion."
The woman beside me told me she herself has been witness to her theft in the store she works in.The thief is in court regularly and gets a fine and is let go.
What really struck was she remained so calm when taken back in to the store then reappeared in the cuffs to people watching her.I would pass out if I was ever accused of stealing.
well thats the thing, like they keep getting let go there's really no consequence.
i forgot to mention, the woman's daughter (mother of the kids) was in on it too. its really sad, their whole family is in on it and they're raising the kids in that.
It was a woman (40ish mother) was in her house and she heard someone break in. It was like a 18 yr old male. The woman just happened to be a black belt so first she attacked the person, and he finally got away and ran.
Then it turned out the woman was also a marathon runner, so she chased the kid for a couple of miles until she caught him and the police came and arrested him. I bet he didn't see that coming... pretty amazing
That is awesome.......great story, stupid kid!!

Yeah that is absolutely the problem. There's little consequence for their actions.
I work with families with difficulties, addiction, crime, child abuse etc.You would not believe how many of the families I work with take their children with them to steal or the kids act as decoys while the parents steal.I have had kids as young as three steal in shops when we take them on outings.Or at the end of the day the parents don't turn up for their kids as they have been arrested.Sadly this life its all the kids have known.
Everything in the centre that I work in is screwed down or locked away.Parents have tried to walk out the building with t.v's etc claiming its theirs!Unbelievable.
