Agreed. I might be the only person left in this country to not own a cell phone. Never have, never will. I don't want to talk to anyone that badly, and I certainly don't want people talking to me. Why make it easier?

i too dont have a cell phone.never have, never will. if i am out of the house what makes someone think i want to be contactable? call the landline, leave a message and i'll get back to you, ok? :)

What if you get lost in the outback? What about some Mad Max scenario? What if you spy an Indonesian invasion whilst out at the creek?

this is great. when i first got my cell phone my 'friend' gave me all this crap about people that use cell phones. yet i never used the phone while in public, nor do i answer it when im in the middle of talking to someone in person, i just silence it, then get it later.

well he gets a cell phone cause this girl right....they didnt last 2 weeks. anyways the next time we went to the theater his cell rings, yep he answered and talked for like 10 minutes. i figured maybe it was important, cause i remembered the crap i got for just getting a phone. well i cant even count how many times he's been in lines at stores and was on the phone talking about nothing. he use to work at a gas station and that was one thing he ranted about all the time, people that acted like the cashier didnt exist because of their phones.

some people....funny how quick he changed his tune about cell phones after he got one. hes one of the rudest cell phone users i know. i mean you dont hang out with friends then talk on your phone the whole time.

cell phones are like the greatest machine to see how inconsiderate people are. i think we're really starting to see how selfish people really are, now that they have a chance to act this way all the time.

that rule should be passed into law.

i was at some sub shop the other week out of town and they had a sign no talking on cell phones while ordering. i think we'll see more of that soon. im almost ashamed to have a cell phone with the way most people act.

as someone who works 2 jobs in customer service, this drives me NUTS...
especially when there is a line up of people, and i'm trying to ask them questions (especially when i'm working at the post office, but it happens at my other retail job as well)

by now it bugs me so much that i'll just up and help another customer behind them on a seperate till (if one is available) or i'll just continue on asking questions as if the cell phone isnt existent - i dont care if i'm interrupting them or not. of course there are exceptions, but most of the time its just plain rude.

    ahhhh!
i just had to get that out after serving that last customer, who would actually start asking me a question, stop in the middle and talk about something on his phone, then start asking me again, and stop, and start and stop ....and start and stop!

I see people doing it all the time and I thinks it's really rude.

I'm lucky in that where I work we have the upper hand. If some schmuck won't get off the phone to take care of business, I can send them to the end of the line.
