two people died here on long island in the last 24 hrs ,a student & guidance counselor not from the same school or same town but still fucked up :( ....

    dude, i just saw on the news, in the next town over a school employee was just diagnosed! now all the parents of the students are freaking out. scary stuff.

    I saw that, I went to high school with the guidance counselor and knew her slightly through some school-related activities like the student organization.

    Has anyone gotten the vaccination?

    I hate getting vaccinations for things (or taking antibiotics unless I really really need them), but it seems like the meningitis vaccination would be worth getting. It's such a quick and devastating illness. A close family friend lost her leg and was in a coma for two months after contracting it 20 or so years ago. She went from normal to gravely ill in a matter of hours.

    went to the doctor yesterday because i was running a fever for a few days. Since he knows i'm a teacher guess what he was worried about?

    my son is 18 and just got the vaccine this month.
    seems it is required to get into college.



    my mom's friend's daughter died last month from meningitis.

    probably a really good idea to get the vaccine.

    that's the fucked up part once you develop more than one symptom it's usually too late ,people have to be very vigilant with what you feel like or what your children are telling you they feel ,shit another thing to worry about...
