New M. Night movie. I was intrigued by the story before going.

It was terrible and I want my 13 bucks back. Good popcorn though

Well M Night thinks you're a dumbass and that if you're not amazed then the story is just way too amazing for you to even understand. Has anyone seen any of his interviews for this movie? He's such an arrogant prick.

I gave up on this guy long time ago. I say we have a boxing match between him and Uwe Boll for supreme douche and then both have to quit making movies.

That's what I was going to say!

I thought it was going to be bad from the Wahlberg's delivery of the line:

"There are forces here beyond our understanding."

Blah. I did like signs though.

i saw this saturday. the idea/storyline was great....and i will admit i was on the edge of my chair a lot. more gore than i expected. but the dialogue was awful. i heard a review saying that it was like a porn movie without the sex scenes...haha. definitely disappointed when it was over.

The reviews are throwing me off, despite the intriguing previews.

with a movie like this i head on over to the imdb message boards, reaffirm that this guy is a hack and his movies are not good, and then spoil...err, save people from wasting their money on the rubbish.

and i laugh at the tv spots for this movie:

    "his first rated-r movie"...

    wow, way to go.

    Esther's here and she's sick?

hi Esther, now we are all going to be sick, thanks

I thought it was okay... yeah the dialogue was horrible, there was some holes in the storyline, but it was pretty damn entertaining! I was on the edge of my seat pretty much the whole time. This movie didn't require superb acting or great dialogue, it was about the action and suspense.

    I'd give it a B.

Oh and am I the only one who thinks Zooey Deschanel is absolutely adorable? (although she can't act)

Yeah haha! what is that shit? "his first R rated movie" wtf?

Now I have yet to see the movie, but can it be any worse than the new Indiana jones? I don't think so.
  • I read a review that said the only good thing about this film is that it would someday be spoofed on a Simpsons Halloween episode. likely title---
    The Crappening

LOL that reminds me of a quote from the movie "Spinal Tap."

The review for "Shark Sandwich" was merely a two word review which simply read "Shit Sandwich". --Marty DiBergi

And then Nigel (I think) bums out and says...they can't say that can they?

    Totally hilarious

Love the thing about the future Simpsons Halloween spoof too--too funny!

Nuts. I was hoping this would be a solid movie. Here's hoping that a couple posters that said it was a thinking kind of movie have my same taste in film.

Although I do agree that the advertising has been juuuuust a little silly.

I have to disagree. I enjoyed Signs, Lady in the Water, and The Village.

Sure, his movies aren't real "heady" and the acting is sometimes lacking. But his movies always have me on the edge of my seat. They are entertaining.

Not my favorite director, but I'll watch all his movies!

I'm not looking forward to seeing the Happening. I thought Unbreakable and Lady in the Water sucked.

    BUT!..

I just re-bought Signs on blu-ray.. I'd put it up there as one of the Sci-Fi/horror greats.

The Village was ok. The Sixth Sense was good..

I liked Signs and Sixth Sense!!! :D

    "What a stupid lamb."
    "What a sick, masochistic lion."
  • The previews reminded me of Andromeda Strain meets the Stand.

As far as M Nights other movies....
    Sixth Sense - really good
    Unbreakable - decent
Signs - good (at least Joaquin Phoenix anyways)
Lady in Water - absolute horse shit!

That is, any movie not including the words "Star Wars" or "The Matrix" in the title. Or countless comedy classics. But for any other movie of substance, I agree.
