i think Russell is annoying twat, never got his jokes, i don't think i he has the ability to be funny.

however this phone call was blown out of proportion, i don't think it was really that offensive, but one thing i know there wasn't anything funny about it.

Agreed completely! I love Jonathan Ross but think Brand's dragging him down to his level. Ross can say what Brand says but gets away with it.. Brand just sounds like a twat when he says stuff like that. I don't find him funny at ALL... and just listened to this for the first time and didn't find it funny either :o but it was definitely blown out of proportion. Brand should be sacked cos he's crap but leave Ross alone :o
    The Astoria??? Orgazmic!
    Verona??? it's all surmountable
Dublin 23.08.06 "The beauty of Ireland, right there!"
    Wembley? We all believe!
Copenhagen?? your light made us stars
    Chicago 07? And love
    What a different life
Had I not found this love with you

I think the pair of them should never work in television/radio again.

Ross talks about himself, Brand talks about how risque he is.

Can we have some quality in the UK now?!!!!

That's right Davy, you slam those big earners. Keep it real.

Ross has a problem in that he feels the need to attatch himself to these new/young 'comedic' guns. I feel he must think it makes him more relavant for some reason, I mean 5 years back all he was on about on the radio wes "Ricky Gervais was at my house, and Stephen Marchant......." Ricky this, Stephen that.....it was rather pathetic.
I like Ross' Saturday show, but I didn't reall miss it this week, Richard Allinson played some good rock music instead of David Bowie album tracks and obscure Scott Walker....

The 'joke' in question was incredibly poor taste, it is really a form of bullying, to leave a message on the answer phone of an elderley, respectful man like Andrew Sachs is pretty much about as low as anyone could stoop. Makes no difference about the brew haha that followed, we know people are reactionary, but the fact is it was a poor, really rather nasty and spiteful thing to do, and cowardly, not to mention completely disrespectful to the girl in question.
I'd have kicked both their arses out the door, neither would be missed.
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....

I don't think the joke is any worse than the casual racism that goes on in shows like Little Britain. I'm all for bad taste, but it's got to have a point to it - Brass Eye and Borat, for instance. Funny how the BBC have suddenly 'realised' that they need to review the content of their programmes...

Whether the joke was funny or not, it doesn't deserve the ridiclious amount of media attention, nor the involvement of the PM. Honestly, I'm sure there are a wealth of unbroadcasted material from Brand and Ross that's far worse than "he fucked your grandaughter."

I agree with that. I like his Saturday morning shows but he seems so cringe worthy when he latches onto the young comedians and tells his 'hilarious' anecdotes with them. Him and Brand sounded like annoying twatty schoolchildren on that show.

it didnt deserve much media interest at all... it was a pretty shit thing to do.. but do we need the PM getting involved... do we fuck. anyway, i blame the Daily Mail and all its 30000 fifty-something housewife readers from Buckinghamshire who think all those Polish people are stealing their jobs even though they themselves have never worked as their husband earns enough for them to go to Marbella twice a year...

    where was I

yes... as for the girl in question.. i mean if Manuel heard his daughter shagged Russell Brand then i gues he'd be upset.. seeing as how she is a pure and virtuous soul herself.. oh wait, she's a burlesque stripper from a dancing troupe called the Satanic Sluts of Hell or something... i'd be more embarrassed if i found out my daughter was a goth stripper who showed her flaps for money rather than if i found out she'd had a relationship with a comedian. i see the Daily Mail ignored that part of the story though.
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

...I'm just really pissed off that Jeremy Clarkson's now getting it in the neck.

    It's beyond funny now. :)
