BIG LIFE DECISION: Need your help!!! :-)

ok...we just won a PS3 and 40 Bluray movies in a contest. Buuuuuuuut....we already have a PS3. Now, thing is, we have two couples that we normally hang out with on weekends. And giving it to one couple will surely make the other couple feel left out. All three couples (both of them and us) have Xbox360s.

- We'd give it to my brother, but he is in Australia for a year at Teacher's College.
- We'd give it to one of our parents, but they never rent movies or play PS3 games.
- We could sell it on Ebay, but we've never really done that before...

We are so torn! What should we do?

(this post was written with tongue-in-cheek humour, but we still have this situation!)

Sell it to this guy...I need to play a good baseball game and my 360 isn't going to help me out there.

that is a great answer. My son spent 3 months in the hospital and they had a gaming system they would roll into his room. One of the only things that made him smile in the hospital! DO THAT!!!

see that's what i was thinking....if it only makes one child smile, it's worth it....:)
  • I work with a Children's hospital. Trust me, give it to them. They can go stir crazy and it's good for the kids to feel normal.

or some similar local charity.....many charities hold auctions as part of their fund-raisers.....that would make a decent auction prize.

Forget about all this charity stuff. I'll give you like 20 bucks for it, no questions asked. Don't worry I'll even take care of the shipping charges to help alleviate any further concerns. Take it or leave it ;)..

do both couples have a 1080p tv that can take advantage of blu-ray? ... if so, another idea is to sell it to whoever wants it the most and use the money to have a dinner party for all of ya ... or split the money to charity and a dinner ...

Sorry guys, but my offer was accepted. I kinda feel bad about the situation now so I'll probably donate to charity when I get bored of it and/or when it completely loses its monetary value..

Which is an option on Ebay. I've sold PJ posters on Ebay and had proceeds go to the Red Cross and the CCFA.
  • I definitely think that you should leave out the friends and family on this one.

While I think the children's hospital is a noble idea, I would be willing to bet anything that it would be broken in about two weeks and the 40g model is not backwards compatible, thus limiting the library of games they could acquire at reasonable prices (not to mention extra conrollers, etc.).

You could raffle it for a charity or sell it for the best offer you get on here and then donate that money to a good cause or your bank account.

Something tells me that donating it didn't cross his mind..

You could always sell it, keep half and give half to charity...that way you can atleast get something you need, and help someone else with something you won

I'll give you $300 for it

    $301

since he doesn't know how to do ebay, we should skip the fees and just turn this thread into an ebay for his PS3
