  • definitely my favorite show that's currently filming, and probably my second favorite ever, after seinfeld. What's everyone's favorite characters? I bounce around between Creed and Kevin, their one-on-ones with the camera are always priceless, especially Creed's about flashing ("if that's a crime, then lock me up." and Oscar being gay ("A guy could've slipped in there, I have no way of knowing.")

I just love this show... every character is great and I love the fact most offices have someone they remind them of.

    Dwight, you ignorant slut!
drivingrl: "Will I ever get to meet Gwen Stefani?"
kevinbeetle: "Yes. When her career washes up and her and Gavin move to Galveston, you will meet her at Hot Topic shopping for a Japanese cheerleader outfit.

    Next!"

I hope they don't make a spinoff. I wouldn't want to see one or more of those characters removed from The Office.

I saw it on the news last night, but they didn't say who it is based on.
Too late for April fools joke, so I am assuming it is legit.
Even in best possible scenerio, it is Dwight and his brother, I still think it would be played out.The little they DO show the characters outside the office is enough.

Michael's relationship with Toby is awesome.

I love when Toby walks in for the Finer Things Club with teacups and a bowtie, and Michael goes "OH...MY...GOD, you see Toby, this is why people are leaving....I'm at a loss for words, I don't know what to say"

    and this classic

Toby: But didn't you lose alot of money from that one email investment?

Michael: you know what Toby? when the President of Nigeria's son emails you personally for help, you help! His father ran a freaking country

This is definitely in my top 3 favorite tv shows. Creed has some of the best one-liners of all time and they are hilarious. Love the Michael/Toby relationship and of course the Jim/Dwight relationship. Can't wait for the new ones!!

I love when Creed comes out of the lake with the bones of a fish and goes "nobody told me you were serving lunch!"

How about when Toby starts pouring his heart out about his childohood and parents divorce during lunch and Michael just pushes his tray off the table and walks away

I've got a question guys. Presumably american audiences responded well to the original, british Office, otherwise the network wouldn't have commissioned your version Why then did they have to make an american version? The original is so much funnier.

Not wanting to shit on the thread, I just don't understand why you'd need to fix something that ain't broke :)

honestly, we speak the same language, but the humor between the US and UK is different. I could hardly sit through the British version because sometimes I had no idea what they were talking about, and the accents threw off the sarcasm for me. Maybe it's just me, but that is why I could't get into the British version

    That's fair enough.

admittedly I don't find Curb Your Enthusiasm remotely funny and I know that's like your sophisticated comedy. I've tried and I've tried because, coming from a nation of dry wit and sarcasm, I don't want to be left cold by the supposed pinnacle of American comedy but I really was.

Yeah, I agree with thunderDAN. I thought the original was funny, but there were a few times I had trouble with the accents and a few times I needed to look up a British slang/colloquialism, which lessened the effect for me.

Now, if Curb Your Enthusiasm is the pinnacle of American comedy, then we're in trouble. I don't find Larry David even remotely funny and think that most everything he does is a big turd. I know that's blasphemy to all the Seinfeld and CYE fans out there, but really, I think people love those shows because everyone else loves them, not because they're all that funny.

yeah like I appreciate the UK version but it's just hard for me to follow so I can't enjoy it as much as I can the US version.

I really like Curb, but it was hard to get used to from the beginning. They don't have scripts so the acting is very hard to get used to. The dry wit is there, and it SHOULD be one of America's favorite shows (because it is basically a R rated Seinfeld and Seinfeld is the biggest comedy sitcom ever) The reason why it is not a smash hit is because of the odd acting philosophy of just winging it. It's really hard to follow if you just see it once or twice.
