Yuk! I just used a netty pot!!! EW!

I bought it a few months ago but I never used it. I woke up today with a sinus headache and thought I'd try it. First it did not flow out like it should. Second I still have a headache!
That does not feel good when the salt water goes into your nose.
WTF? Anyone ever use one?

I was gonna try that but haven't yet. Maybe it's all blocked up in there and that's why it won't flow out or something? I have TERRIBLE sinus pain sometimes, because we have stupid radiant heat.

Inhaling steam (with a personal steamer or with just a mug of boiling water) is just about the only thing that gets rid of those headaches.

My mom had me try one of those things, i don't like it at all. She swears by it though, says that it's great for her sinus and she hasn't had any problems with them since she started using it.

I'm not sure that it's supposed to do anything for headaches though, so that could be your problem why you still have it...

My grandfather was the GM for the Planters in Atlantic City in the late 40's 50's and 60's.
I met yuor mayor. He wanted me to open a store there but it is to far for me. I hear its a nice town.

i use a similar thing (it's a plastic squeeze bottle that I prefer to a netti pot)
and it does work.
you kind of have to get used to the sensation of the flow of water in the nose - it does get easier.
make sure you use warm water.
also, if you already have a bad headache, it may not be the best time to start - may make you feel worse!
i do find it has made a difference in my breathing and post nasal drip etc.

give it some time and keep trying

If you are already sick it might not help you out, especially if you're nose is clogged up.

I think you are supposed to use them before you get sick, you are suppose to use saltwater or something. Rinsing your sinuses out with the saltwater is supposed to prevent bacteria and prevent you from getting sick

yea, hat is what my mother told me.
I feel fine today. I just was stuffy and not feeling well in the AM.

i have no idea what a netty pot is, but just from reading the posts above, it dont sound fun!!

Yeah I heard it's kind of wierd and gross. I know people who swear by them though. I want to get one, I always have sinus problems and I hate taking medication.
