Need help on what to buy people??

So my birthday is tomorrow and my wife is getting me some type of ipod or Mp3 or Shuffle??????????
Help me please.

I want something that:
-can hold a lot of music
-I can pick out songs to listen to
-can also put it on shuffle
-and can download to from computer quickly
-and can strapit to my arm for working out

Any suggestions?
I know I am out of the loop on this, Turning 33. Old man huh?

    An ipod shuffle maybe.
    The only thing you'd have trouble with is picking songs. There's no display, but you can turn shuffle off and skip to the next/previous song.
    1G is a fair size for songs.

    Yea that bothers me, not being able to have a screen to see the songs.

    Just called Radio Shack, They said on the nano, you can pick your song, or you can hit random play. I assume that is like shuffle right?

    every i-pod model has a shuffle feature on it.

    the new i-pod shuffle is pretty cool, the thing weighs no more than a pen and you can clip it anywhere you want. but the only thing that sucks is, it has no display.

    the new nano is pretty sleek. that might be your best bet. awesome display, you can view pics, play videos. the thing is light as hell, and you can get one of those protective cases that straps around your arm.

    just an FYI - apple's accessories are WAY overpriced. check out ebay and you can get whatever accessory you want for more than half off what apple is advertising.

    as far as size.. i have a 4GB, which is about 1000 songs. my ipod is maxed out. when it is time to upgrade, i will probably go witht he 8GB one.

    ipod nano.

    well, im not sure how the new ones work, but mine is perfect. no video, but song selection and shuffle are a breeze and i can fit about 2000 songs on it (i have the 8gb). also has a nice display to see what's playing. doesn't take much time to load stuff onto it at all. the time-consuming part is putting your cd's on your computer ;) the nano is also very compact and stable for working out, more so than a regular ipod, which uses a spinning hard drive and is more prone to breakdown. if the new ipod nano still uses the flashdrive, that's your best bet.

    i dont think you can pick songs on the ipod shuffle or see what's playing.

    You can't skip to a song (or see what is playing), you can only manually skip songs forward and back until you reach the song you want.

    i just bought a SANSA MP3, 2GB, for $65. It has FM radio, and a shuffle feature. It can ALSO play by artist, genre, etc....
    I really like it. Its small, almost like a shuffle, has a clip on the backside, and I dont think the screen scratches as much as an IPOD.

    i've got no suggestions what so ever, i seem to not like technology these days, computer is the only technology i like. so yes, i don't own an ipod and i don't want to. every now and again i still listen to my tapes where i've recorded music previously, but anyway that's not my point my point is:

    a shuffle doesn't hold many songs but it's perfect for working out.

    DO NOT GET A SHUFFLE OR NANO!

    they don't hold much music!!! it is a tragic waste of money!!!

    go for the big boy the 160 - it's compact enough and they sell arm band holders that they will fit into....33?? you are not old!! :D
