Sorry for another child thread but I just wanted to write about it.
I was cleaning the bathroom, my 1 & 1/2 year old daughter was following me around. She tripped and hit her head on the corner of the door. BAM! Ut oh, She started crying really hard. When I picked her up to hold her, she threw up a little. That got me scared b/c of the possible sign of a concussion. So i called her doctor and they said b/c she threw up I need to take her to the ER to get checked. We went and they wanted to give her a (cat scan or MRI)??? I was so freaked I forget which one it was. They have to put her in a tunnel. They strapped her down and taped her head down. WTF?? She was crying so hard which made my wife cry also. I never heard her make those sounds before. She turned lobster red, and kept getting out of the straps! Poor little thing. They could not get it completed so they wanted to drug her so she would sleep. I said no way. forget it, I will moniter her at home.
Ya see, the throwing up could have been because she was in a hysterical state, not b/c of the impact.
In a nutshell....she was fine thank god. Now problems.
Scary time though for a parent.

glad she's ok though. as my grandmother always said, kids heads are like rubber.
Oh my god, that would have scared the hell out of me!! I'm glad she's ok!! Awww, she must have been so scared. :(
We've only had one ER trip, but it was when Annabelle was 5 weeks old so I was pretty much hysterical myself. She had a fever, and they had to do a spinal tap to rule out meningitis. They actually made me leave the room while they did it, because they knew I wouldn't be able to handle watching them do it.
when a baby that young has a fever you should ALWAYS go to the ER...spinal taps are awful to experience, but my family would not be the same without them...
It sounds like the doctors did a good job at making you feel worse though.
She may have also been sick due to the pain. Have you never bashed your knee and felt a bit icky suddenly because of it?
Yeah, plus they have to rule out all kinds of other infections, too and x-ray the lungs and did an ultrasound of her kidneys. It was scary. :(
nice to know your daughter is OK acoustic guy!
You're clearly all better parents than me because my son once bashed his nose and made it bleed. We were with Grandparents at the time and they all said 'Ah, he's fine'. So that was the end of that and he WAS fine.
That being said, we did take him to A&E once because he was crying like crazy.
Turned out to be wind. We gave the staff a good giggle.
i know exactly what that feels like it sucks royally feeling so helpless when your child is going thru these kinds of experiences but thank god she is ok ...

Thank goodness everything turned out ok.
It would've broken my heart to see my child like that too.
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
