Almost Famous.
Cameron Crowe did a awesome job on this film.
If interested you should http://www.imdb.com it. I few Pearl Jam parts. Like McCreedy helping with the main riffs during the concerts.
The little thing the band does together before they go on stage, well they got that from PJ. Pretty cool.
Also it has some truth to it. Crowe did this with the Allman Bros.
He also got the band fighting stories from Zeppelin.

Best movie ever!

its one of my favorite movies. if i could choose my life to go a certain way, it would be exactly like william's in that movie (and cameron crowe's in real life). to go on tour with rock bands and write for rolling stone. thats as good as it gets. great movie, great soundtrack, great acting.

The good thing about Good Will Hunting is since Affleck and Damon are from Boston they get the accent down perfect. I hate watching movies or show with people trying to do our accent. They sound fucking stupid.

Damon is perfect when he say, "I got her numbah. How do you like them apples?" Perfection.

If I had to choose another one it would be Shawshank Redemption. Love that flick.

I've always wondered what the first thing they said to each other on that beach at the end was.

    pulp fiction.
  • Dead Man. Jim Jarmusch, Neil Young, Johnny Depp...i don't know why exactly but it just works for me like no other. Only movie i can watch over and over again...preferrably alone since most people i know consider it to be too boring.

It was a good movie, but I understood it was based largely on his experiences travelling with Led Zeppelin. Robert Plant has even (very bashfully) admitted to the 'golden god' stunt. Anyway, I saw it once, I enjoyed it, and btw, it was also the first time Zepp had ever allowed any of their music to be used on a movie soundtrack...ever, ever, ever !
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....
  • fell asleep in the theater when I went to see it. not bad though from what i've seen on TV

Check out the info on Zepplin on imdb. Its either under the movie or i read it on Wikipedia under Crowe. The band he toured with was Allman bros.

I'm not gonna argue bro, I just for some reason thought I'd read that he toured with Zepp when he was like 15 or something, and it was loosely based on his experiences with them, along with otheres sure.
For sure, Ive heard Planty questioned on the 'golden god' thing, and he was very bashful, but 'kinda' admitted it.
Whatever though, I'm no authority on either.

  • Jamie Uk, being from the UK, have you seen the movie "Green Street Hooligans"? I have yet to meet someone from your neck of the woods that has. It is based in England. It stars Elija Wood. I am not a fan of him but I like the movie. Its a guy flick with a lot of fights

Oh I meant, the first good movie :D. I guess they told us Zepp here, cos we never heard of the Allmans (well, not hardly)
Funny how you read this crap, believe it, then find out it it crap!
I know Jack Black sent a 'begging video' to the 3 Zepp boys when they refused admission for School of Rock, then they caved in...or is that bull shit too? ;o

I haven't seen it my friend. I believe it to be about Football hooliganism, which, as a football fan, and a decent human being, is a cause of behaviour I have always deplored. I find the concept of sticking someone with a knife because they support a different sports team completely abhorent, always have done, so, no I never bothered to see it.
I prefer American movies anyway :)

I LOVE that movie! Just popped it in again saturday night, actually. Although, Waking Life is my #1. I could watch that movie every week and still not get tired of it.

    Best scene from Pulp Fiction:

Jules: Hey kids! How you boys doin'?
[to man laying on the couch]
Jules: Hey, keep chillin'. You know who we are? We're associates of your business partner Marsellus Wallace. You do remember your business partner don't you? Let me take a wild guess here. You're Brett, right?
    Brett: Yeah.
Jules: I thought so. You remember your business partner Marsellus Wallace, don't you, Brett?
Brett: Yeah, yeah, I remember him.
Jules: Good. Looks like me an Vincent caught you boys at breakfast. Sorry about that. Whatcha havin'?
    Brett: Hamburgers.
Jules: Hamburgers! The cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast. What kind of hamburgers?
    Brett: Ch-cheeseburgers.
Jules: No, no no, where'd you get 'em? McDonalds? Wendy's? Jack in the Box? Where?
    Brett: Big Kahuna Burger.
Jules: Big Kahuna Burger. That's that Hawaiian burger joint. I hear they got some tasty burgers. I ain't never had one myself. How are they?
    Brett: They're good.
Jules: Mind if I try one of yours? This is yours here, right?
[Picks up burger and takes a bite]
Jules: Mmm-mmmm. That is a tasty burger. Vincent, ever have a Big Kahuna Burger?
    [Vincent shakes his head]
Jules: Wanna bite? They're real tasty.
    Vincent: Ain't hungry.
Jules: Well, if you like burgers give 'em a try sometime. I can't usually get 'em myself because my girlfriend's a vegitarian which pretty much makes me a vegitarian. But I do love the taste of a good burger. Mm-mm-mm. You know what they call a Quarter Pounder with cheese in France?
    Brett: No.
    Jules: Tell 'em, Vincent.
    Vincent: A Royale with cheese.
Jules: A Royale with cheese! You know why they call it that?
Brett: Because of the metric system?
Jules: Check out the big brain on Brett! You're a smart motherfucker. That's right. The metric system. What's in this?
    Brett: Sprite.
Jules: Sprite, good. You mind if I have some of your tasty beverage to wash this down?
    Brett: Go right ahead.
    Jules: Ah, hit the spot.

  • My favorite movie of all time is....

    2001 A Space Odyssey

Ok, it is not for everyone, I'll admit that. But Stanley Kubrick's sci-fi masterpiece is the pinnacle of filmmaking. The special effects were groundbreaking then and still look good today. The story is extremely complex and thought provoking despite a very limited amount of dialogue. Plus, HAL is one of the great movie villains of all time.

The thing I like about 2001, and all of Kubrick's movies, is how they all seem to be totally off the wall, but don't resort to having a big "oh, now I get it" payoff moment at the end where it all ties together. If you are lost 20 minutes in, you are going to be lost the whole way.
