My city is too big for a village idiot, but my neighbor fits the job description. He buys broken cars, fixes them and sells them. A few months ago, he bought a delivery truck and gave it a rolling of Kilz for its paint job.

there is some guy who is in his 40's who works in our local grocery store packing bags. i think he is a massive alchoholic and drinks all day. he doesn't drive - thank goodness. he walks everywhere and waves at every single car that drives by and person he sees.
  • Haha in Brantford, Ontario we have a couple good ones.

First of all, there is a crazy looking man who mumbles to himself and is missing part of one arm upon which he has a hook (no joke!!!). Of course, there are many stories circulating about him, ranging from 'he lost his mind in the vietnam war' right down to 'hes actually a millionare and has a mansion, but can't remember where it is'. Lol

There's a man who i regularly notice on the way to work (about 7am) and back who stands on the pavement with a pair of headphones on and a bottle of cider on the floor dancing away like a monkey and waving at the cars, most of the time you can see his headphones aren't even plugged into anything, the cable just swings about as he is dancing!!!! :D

Im sure he should be in some kind of care home BUT it brightens up my day to see an inoffensive crazy guy on my way to work!

Not sure about village idiot, but I did nearly run over the village drunk last night in my car - and he IS an idiot for being in the middle of the road on a bend - so does that count? Its ironic, for months now I've seen him staggering back from the pub in the road thinking "someone's gonna run that guy over one of these days" - never thought it could possibly be me :o
