Tired is not even the right word to explain how I feel.
My brain is oatmeal right now.

But, my business almost doubled its sales compaired to last year so I am happy too! :D

um, he has a family to support. That's why he's working so hard (I presume?!) Or maybe it's to pay for that hotel room in NYC for the June concerts? :)

I appreciate when people are not afraid of hard work. Good for you.

that and he owns his own business, and its seasonal. gotta make that money while he can!!!!

  • I worked 30 hours straight once. Was sent to the UK to unravel and commandeer a server room for an international entertainment biz.

The best part is I got it all done in one shot so I toured England for the rest of the
    week.

Cheers to hard work for capable minds.

LOL yea he was out there. The guy I hired to do it did not show up (during a holiday weekend!) so my other employee was dumb enough to volunteer while thinking I would say no I said SURE! He gave me this look like "sssssssshit". he tried to say he was kidding but TO LATE!;)
He said he felt so goofy dressing up like that. He is a good kid.
Ita amazing how many people flock to take a picture with him.

Its also interesting that with the gas and food costs so high right now, people are still coming to the shore and spending money. I was kinda suprised. I was hoping that families would take short trips instead of long ones which they did so it worked out.
Most of the people who come here are form the tri-state area. And New York.

    AGREED! :D

although certainly, when i work i work hard....but i am all for no more than 40 hour weeks. less would be even better. :p however, i thin i found myself a really good balance between hours worked, paycheck, vacation time and benefits...so i am content. :)

but i hear ya acoustic, as the saying goes....gotta make hay while the sun shines! most definitely how it goes with a seasonal business - good luck! obviously, you know it's worth it!

um, isn't NY considered one of the 'tri-state area' states? :p
i always thought the 'tri-state area' was NY, NJ and CT.

Its a hard lifestyle having to work every weekend. i have to work so fucking hard since I never finished college.
The way I see it, having a college degree helps you live a lifestyle that is more relaxed and allows you to have off weekends while working only 40 hours for them most part. Unless your a Doctor. And of course that is not the only benefit of having a degree LOL.
I wish I had a job where I had off Sat and Sun. Before I opened my business I was th Director of Food and Beverage at a Golf Club. Working in the hospitality industry, you work all holidays and weekends. Sucks.
I see my family in the winter a lot but April through October not so much.

i hear ya, but you do realize that a college degree alone is not a guarantee of anything, including having the weekends off. and believe me, the people in my office put in some CRAZY-sick hours and work very, very hard. also, i have no idea your situation, but particularly as a self-employed individual, you may well make as much or even more than the average college grad. :)

that said, i have a master's degree and only as of last year did i stop working weekends. i always worked a retail gig to supplement my teaching income. now that i left education, i finally have weekends off. my husband, no college degree but very good job....he too, finally, has both weekend days off. took us a long time to get here tho. :D that said, we'll never be *rish* either.....but comfortable works well for us.

    it's all balance eh?

I have 2 degrees and I work on Saturdays :) Ya gotta make that money anyway you can. I bet you do make more money than some folks w/o a degree, plus you don't have to answer to anybody else. That's kind of neat.
I see where it has its drawbacks though, esp. not as much time w/your family.

they did a quick thing on cedar point, the NJ shore and board walk and i yelled to my gf " LOOK, WATCH OUT FOR A GUY DRESSED AS A PEANUT" !!!!

she thought i was crazy. lol.
    Peace, Love.
