Greetings one and all!

Heading to the Bridge shows (sans tickets)...and after spending two days stopping at EVERY state park and wayside in Oregon, we finally made it to California! That Coastline NEVER stops being spectacular! Tonight we are in Willits and had a nice dinner at the Purple Thistle...friendly staff...Eat there if you have the chance!

It's wine country tomorrow and perhaps Santa Cruz on Friday (Cold Water Classic Surf competition).... And the Canadian dollar is worth 0.79 US right now, expected to drop to 0.60 by the time we go home (Nov 3)...

Not gonna worry about that now...just want to have fun fun fun til' my hubby takes my credit card away...

Anyone else headed south to the Bridge?

Not this year, but enjoy! It is a beautiful drive isn't it? And, have a great time at the shows. :)

Santa Cruz is great. Ocean St. is where I spent a lot of time just hanging out and doing nothing. There's like a subculture scene going on there. At least that's the way it was 10 years ago. There's a big bookstore there with a cozy front patio complete with foliage. Again, that was ten years ago. Ocean St. is also within walking distance of the boardwalk if that's your thing. The only reason I ever went to the boardwalk was for laser tag.

If you guys want to hang out and take a ride on the opiate train, hit me up when you reach orange county.

Sounds like a lot of fun! Are you going down 101? The most beautiful highway in the US (IMHO!) Hope you have a great time at the surf competition! :)

Willits seems to have quite a hippy dippy subculture going on, too. Five or six dreadlocked guys in their late 20's hopping out of a camper van an onto skateboards... It's kinda neat here, but we are road weary...there's a lot of tiny bars behind restaurants, and most of them seemed quite busy (and it was like, 8:30pm on a Wednesday)....just seems odd...of course, in Victoria, during the week everything closes at 5pm...

Oh, there's also a lot of backpackers and hot rodders...Quite a mix...it's neat...

Yeah, we're taking the 101, but wanted to take Hwy #1 - however we were much too tired to even think about it when we got to the junction. Plus it was getting dark. We've already been through the redwoods three times in the dark (which is heaps of fun!) and didn't think a windy twisty narrow road along the coast in the dark would be as fun...We'll try to take #1 from San Fran to Santa Cruz....

That be a cozy patio indeed. I am embarassed to say I've never spent time in Half Moon Bay other than to drive through it, and that was probably at night.

If you get a chance, see Mavericks. It's on the other side of the airport off U.S. 1.
The waves aren't as big as the Winter sets... but, they are big. They break pretty far off shore, but they are breathtaking, nonetheless.

Have a great time Kim. The Bridge shows are definately something everyone should experience. I won't be there this year because I'm watching my Phillies in the World Series, and I have a WHO show this weekend. Enjoy yourself, sounds like a neat way to travel. :)
Don't come closer or I'll have to go

Hello...Sonoma is such a great little town. We got here just after all the shops closed and now we're leaving before they open! We are still having an awesome time, though...and so far we haven't wanted to kill each other!

Stopped at four wineries (incl. Beringer) and I got hooped and didn't feel well - allegedly it was 90 degrees or something obscene...but WOW! I love vinyards in the fall! Hubby took a crapload of photos with his new camera...

Might head up to Bodega/Bodega Bay and head into San Fran that way...or maybe just go to San Fran/Santa Cruz today. The Bridge shows kind of get in the way of our wanting to see the sites....

Today sounds like the only day we can go to the Half Moon Bay Brewery is today...maybe in the early evening...however, if I can't meet Gracie or Norm - stars of the AET Doggie Thread - such is life...But I'm really looking forward to seeing that area - and Mavericks! Been to Santa Cruz twice before, but I can't get there enough as far as I'm concerned!

Saw Mavericks today and WOW WOW WOW! Apparently today was the second biggest day of the year (with bigger waves tomorrow)...we spent so much time there and in Half Moon Bay that we never did get down to Santa Cruz...Anyway, one guy said the occasional wave was 40 feet, but the someone else said maybe they were 20'. Didn't matter to me - Never seen a 20' wave, so I was so hugely impressed. There were surfers coming in from every direction and so many! Jet-skis, SUP boards, everything!

    Hubby took about 600 photos...

I looked for Norm and/or Gracie at the HMBBrewery, but could not see them :(

Yesterday we walked about halfway across the Golden Gate Bridge. I was so scared...It wasn't the height as much as the slight up and down movement from the cars. We stopped mid-span and I swear that thing was swaying...It was a very cool experience, though. Had never done that before...

And now, we are resting prior to heading to Shoreline to see if we can get tix for the Bridge tonight....If not, well then, well just have dinner and retire early...

Not a bad show. Everyone played 30 minutes with about 10 minutes between each act. Death Cab were awesome, Sarah McLachlan was great, Norah Jones did some Johnny Cash and a Hank Williams song...Jack Johnson was not bad. Glad we got to see him. And no, Ed did not perform with him. Neil Young was fantastic! A Day In the Life?! Old Man?! The Needle and the Damage Done?! Wow!

Anyway, it was a pretty mellow show, which was great for us because we were so tired from everything else we'd done earlier in the day...One guy we chatted with said it was the worst Bridge he'd ever seen. Hmmmm. Well, there were no real rockers besides Uncle Neil. Got me waving my Canada flag!! But we will be attending the finals of the Cold Water Classic (surfing) in Santa Cruz tomorrow, so we won't be going to the second Bridge show. Tonight's show was good, but not good enough to get us excited to go tomorrow.

And now I am going to crash...

And yeah! We are having such fun!

I might have my first official lost of the season(6-0-1). :(

I have 76 points with WR1's numbers to add for after MNF but my opponent has 2 players(WR and TE) playing Monday night and he has 62 points.
