VF10 Walking for the SPCA Again!

Hey doggie and kittty (and other animal lovers)! :)

Missed last year's Paws for a Cause, so this year I'm heading back with a vengence and my two mutts!! My lofty goal of $1500 does not have to seem unrealistic - in 2006 you fine folk from the Message Pit sponsored me into the prize for Top Individual Fundraiser! Whoo-hoo! Got a bunch of dog stuff that I donated to the SPCA for the pound puppies. So thanks Pearl Jam fans!!! You are truly an awesomely generous bunch!! Ain't no fans better than Pearl Jam fans!! (Wishlist! Make that a t-shirt....please!)

I would like to rescue all the the dogs from all over the place and keep them on a nice big property -- but that will have to wait a bunch of years -- so in the meantime, I can do the next best thing!!

Help out if you can...and every little bit counts! The walk is in August this year, so yeah - hot! hot! hot! Thanks for reading this!! :)

    Thanks, D! I get so upset when I think about the pooches in the shelters...this is the least I can do for them...I read about an Affenpinscher at a rescue place in UT or somewhere, and oh my god! I want to rescue as many of those little things as I can!! In the meantime, Paws for a Cause it is, to help the ones at home...

    i love this post! :D ESPECIALLY the part about wanting to rescue ALL DOGS FROM ALL OVER! THAT is my own heart right there. I've tried to get people out here to do that run/walk thing too but.....nobody ever wants to dammit!

    I wish I could donate but things are really tight right now. I got my weiner dog at the SPCA 13 years ago (this August 3rd, actually). I'd sign us up and go to ours, but he gets too much attention from people who want to pet him, and then I have to explain to them why they can't. (It gets hard, especially with kids who can't quite understand it.) He's just too nervous in a big crowd; I can't subject him to that kind of excitement.

    I just donated. Good luck to you. What a great cause, our dog Nikita is a rescue, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

    And Rockpants - thanks for taking the time to read the thread! I understand if you can't donate...you thought about the doggies, and that's really what counts...right?
