is it good? good enough that me having to wear a 100% woolly "Indy" hat at work is justified?

*sigh*

I hear Terry Jones (the Monty Python guy) is in it..

It wasn't that bad. It wasn't nearly as good as any of the previous releases of the series, but it still had an entertainment value.

In fact, it captivated my attention from beginning to end. There wasn't a point where I wanted to get up and go do something else. I wanted to see what was going to happen next.

There were, however, some moments that were plain old corny. I don't want to spoil anything for you, but there are a few scenes that will have you wondering why they couldn't have thought of something better.

And there were some scenes that made it seem like they were trying too hard to pack as much into the plot as possible. Those moments bordered on the ridiculous.

But, I did enjoy the whole plot of it all. There were some really imaginative and intriguing concepts at work throughout the movie.

It was alright. I enjoyed it, though it was cheesy in places. The kids loved it.

good job you're not allergic to wool... especially with your hat being 100% wool. if it was only 65% wool you might have been ok... i stress 'might'

i havent seen it... but i will watch it :)
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    Good summary.
I saw it in theatres and don't regret it. I bought it on blu ray and don't regret that either.
It's no Raiders, but Indy is still Indy.

Absolutely terrible. Too much CGI. I'm not saying anything else. You can find out how ridiculous it is on your own. Just terrible.

+1. The scene in the amazon where they are fighting between cars is so poorly filmed and fake looking that I could not watch anymore

    Plus the plot was boring

    I'll agree with that.:D

eMMI.. if you love Indy so much that you want to wear a wool hat to work:D, then you are going to be disappointed! People who like this movie (eg. my mom and my little sister) are generally not the biggest fans of Indy and didn't have any expectations going into it.

If you are like me, and loved the first three movies, then you will wonder why they even made this movie... obviously for the money. There's no emotion in most of the scenes, and the cgi takes away from the movie instead of adding to it.

It's worth watching, just because it is an Indy film... but don't expect it to be that good.:p
Whoa, chill bro... you know you can't raise your voice like that when the lion's here.

I thought the movie completely sucked. I was such, and still am, a huge fan of the first 3 Indy films and was so stoked when i heard that a 4th was being made. After seeing that pile of steaming crap, along with Star Wars I & II< I think George Lucas should be banned from movie for the rest of his God forsaken life.

  • cate blanchett was the best thing in it...but she's always fantastic.
i tried to go into it with low expectations and all, but yea...still rather disappointing. sure, it's 'entertaining' to a degree, and we'll probably give it another go on DVd just because.....but yea........
    Stay with me...

I am myself like you somehow

  • It was really, really "okay". If it was the first movie in the series... there probably wouldn't be a series. But it was at the very least better than National Treasure 2.

Also, I saw a comic one time that just had Spielberg and Lucas holding soft drinks outside the cinema, with Spielberg saying "I think you got some Star Wars in my Indy." Which sums up the movie pretty nicely.

Huge fan of the first three, and I was completely let down. George and steve need to stick to the cartoons. It had possibilities, but it just seemed so thrown together.

    here's my spoiler summary:
    Good guys get caught
good guys punch bad guys, run away.
good guys get chased and caught
good guys punch bad guys, run away.
good guys get followed and caught
good guys punch bad guys, run away.

Ugh, then there's that useless quicksand part, but they almost got away, but were caught, and think someone punched someone....and got away.

And there's the Star Wars wedding at the end.
  • What I always liked about the original three was the fact that even with my suspended disbelief, the movies still seamed real, like they could actually happen. The new one was just way way way over the top.

The only scene I enjoyed was the motorcycle chase, I thought that was classic Indy cinema. The rest is just too CG, to cutesy.

The café scene was pitch-perfect too, I thought. And really, most parts that didn't involve aliens or monkey-vine-swinging.

Big letdown for me. I know Indiana Jones is supposed to be over the top but this one was ridiculous. Jumping a vehicle off a cliff and landing it on a tree to be lowered into the river? Seriously? For the record, the wife loved it as well as most other people I've talked to. I didn't like it. I'd give it 2.5 stars just because it's an Indiana Jones movie (which I typically love) and it was entertaining if you could get past certain parts and the last 15 minutes of the movie.

Here's a breakdown of the ridiculousness that is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (SPOILER ALERT):

I'm sorry, I'm about as big a Stars Wars fan as they come, but Episode I and II where fucking horrible. They do not deserve to bear the name Star Wars. They should have just named them Shitty Prequels to the Great Trilogy known as Star Wars.
