Became bored by it about half-way in so didn't watch to the end. Parts I chuckled at like letting the chickens loose on the train but other moments I thought were just crass and dumb. What he coaxed outta those people was unsurprising, but I didn't mind that side of it.
On the Borat movie - I've never been more embarrased for my fellow Americans in all my life. There are truly some idiots out there! I have seen this once, and will never put myself through that again!
Come on folks, those Christians...is that a common thing there really? I found it very disturbing.
I've tried answering this about three other times - and each time I think I'm not the right person to answer...I'm not policitally correct...etc. But no one else is biting...so here goes!
Yes - it is disturbing - to me anyway. Very disturbing, actually. For full disclosure, I don't believe in any type of "God" anyway - I feel that religion is just another way for big brother to control the masses - so please take my comments from that perspective.
From what I understand - and folks please correct me - this is Pentecostalism. Those folks talking in "tounges" are talking to "God". And he's the only one that can hear because...well, it's "God" and it understands that gibberish. Some of these folks are the same folks that don't believe in going to the doctor because "God" will take care of them.
I'd have to say the craziest part of this is that there were actually US Representatives going to that church! Holy cow! Looked like a looney-bin to me!
Oh - and is this widespread? Not in my area...but from what I understand there are many more churches that follow this faith in the South. (Another reason PJ doesn't play the south??? hmmm...) According to my friend wiki there are about "57 million adherents worldwide" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentecostalism
OK - just trying my best to show that not all Americans are that whacked out! Bash away LOL
