I see so many threads here for football, baseball, and hockey so why not one for college basketball? I love hoops and I know there has to some others here that love the game as well. Who are your favorite teams and how are they doing so far this year?

I pull for three teams: UNC Tar Heels (grew up pulling for them), Winthrop Eagles (grew up pulling for them and my hometown team), and South Carolina Gamecocks (went to college at USC).

UNC has done well this year. 17-0 and ranked #1. They should be in the running for the national championship. They've got the talent and coaching to win it all, it's just a matter of winning the games.

Winthrop is in a transitional year. They are 10-7 and have some good wins and some bad losses. They lost a lot from the team that upset Notre Dame in the tournament last year, but still have the talent to win their conference again. I think they should win it again, but they are fairly young and still trying to develop a steady bench. If they make the NCAA tournament again, I wouldn't expect them to make it to the second round.

South Carolina is just plain bad. They are 8-8, but have only beaten patsy teams this year. Dave Odom needs to be replaced as head coach because he's definitely not getting the job done. The team has 1 true SEC-caliber player and no real team chemistry. It's gonna be a long year as I see them winning a max of 4 conference games.

Been a Tar Heel fan since the days of Jordan. I LOVE college hoops. I played Division 3 ball in Maine for a few years. I love the game when it's played right.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.
