yeah I tried to rent it before and they were all gone. And I think there are only about 10 or 12 copies at my video store too. The Game Plan - is that the one with "The Rock" in it? If so, there are about 100 copies there too. It almost takes up a whole section on the wall.

    Yes and yes.

Pretty direct and telling; Casey Affleck is excellent.

  • Good Movie. Good acting. Nice period piece.

yeah, The Rock - Dwayne Johnson. And he is in that movie Game Plan. Every video store has a hundred copies. It's a disney movie, that's probably why. This one:

sam shepard as frank james... need i say more? no i don't, but i will.

casey affleck was very good as robert ford. at times i felt sad for him that he was seeking such validation. at other times he just creeped me out. brad pitt seems to float through the film i thought. all wistful gazes and quiet contemplation. not always... but thats the impression i take away from the film. or amybe he was just quietly mulling over how to get out of the predicament he found himself in. either way he didnt really have to say a whole lot to convey his character. the scene in the bar with the troubadour was great, especially when i saw who the troubadour was. i couldn't help but smile.
anyhoo for anyone who hasn't seen it, do yourself the favour. :)

  • I just finished watching it and wow, I found it really long and boring. I didn't care for it at all. I kept waiting for it to get better. It was drawn out and there were a lot of useless scenes. At least they could have shortened it and I wouldn't have had to suffer as long. It was 2 hours and 40 minutes. In my opinion, don't waste your time and money on this one. Saturday Night Live is more entertaining, and only an hour and a half long.

  • Really good movie. I loved the pace. It's a western without any of the western conventions.

And the music. So good. So good.
  • I think that it's a great movie. Great acting and cinematography... and the soundtrack is by Nick Cave, so it is just amazing. I thought Affleck did a great job as Robert Ford, and Brad Pitt was solid. It's a very interesting story indeed.

It's the kind of movie where you need to know NOTHING about it and just appreciate it for what it is. If you know that this actor is supposed to have this kind of performance and the story is like this etc, I can see how it would ruin it completely.

I think it should be illegal for this film ever to mentioned with a truncated form of the title given that it has one of the best film titles ever :p

The assassination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford. Whoever came up with that was a genius :D

I liked it. The pace was great, really built the tension. If it was shorter there wouldn't be that tension, especially near the end with all the silent gazes at each other. It's a solid piece, although Affleck is playing his usual bumbling self.
