    Nope, just a huge fan...

Kind of like when Eddie was nominated for a Golden Globe...:) I was just excited. It's great to see a talented individual being noticed. George Clooney was also nominated, but Daniel Day Lewis is AWESOME!!!!

I really really want to see this movie. Daniel Day Lewis is the best.

Not to derail the thread, but has anybody read the book "Oil!" by Upton Sinclair, upon which the movie is based?

It is NEXT on my list of books. Have you read it?

No, I've just read "The Jungle". But I'd love to get someone's review of it. I'm sure it's a great read. I've still got a few books stacked up on the nightstand I've yet to take a peek at yet, so it will probably be a while. No time!

I was happy to see Ellen Page was nominated. As a matter of fact, I was happy how many nominations "Juno" got. I have yet to see "There Will Be Blood," but I will eventually get around to it.

Next tour, I want you to find a dvd of bio dome and there will be blood. then find me, and say "Hey, what would you guys rather watch, BioDome or there WIll Be Blood"
I will fight to the death to make sure Bio Dome enters the DVD player... if I ever have to sit through There WIll Be Blood again, I will claw out my eyes, stab my ears with knives, and hit my head against a wall until I am 100% sure I won't wake up for at least 4 hours!

I'm glad P.T. Anderson made a comeback with this flick.
Boogie Nights and Magnolia were great films, then he made  Drunk-Punch Love.

I think this is his first directing nomination but he has three other nominations for screen-writing. I'm hoping he wins at least the Adapted Screenplay award.

This was made by the same person who made Punch Drunk Love? If so, that explains a lot, and also, I blocked that movie out of my brain, it may have been worse than There Will Be Blood... possibly... I think it had more of a plot though

I haven't actually seen There Will Be Blood yet, but I was a fan of his two acclaimed films (Boogie Nights/Magnolia). But yeah DPL was a disaster.

    :(
So I just saw this movie and sadly to say it was really really boring.
...but then again, I'm not a fan of period pieces, especially ones that were before WWI.

He's one of the best actor of his generation (late 80's-present).

Only thing with him is, he's just like the Fiennes brothers; they only make one movie ever leap year or so. Although Ralph Fiennes has been acting more lately, especially in big budget like Red Dragon. He was awesome in Schindler's List and The English Patient (yes I'm a dude but I still love movie).

not sure what's up with his little brother Joseph, the guy made Shakespeare In Love and then disappeared.

  • Just got back from this. DDL is a lock for the Oscar. Certainly a contender for the single best performance of the 21st century. Played a hell of a seething douche.

a sexy one at that!!! :)

He was very upset about Heath's death that when Oprah called him to say " Congrats" on his Oscar nomination all Daniel could do was talk about Heath!! They never met either...:(

I saw Atonement last night... There Will Be Blood was better, somehow...
I'm going to start bringing a pillow to the movie theatres with me, or at least a baseball bat to knock myself out with!
