what sort of things do normal people do that you can't?
HI, as you can see by my post that I should be sleeping away instead of posting away!!
I'm doing well, I hurt so bad and I can't laugh too much, but I have been home now for two days and yes "there is no place like home"!
I'm glad it's over with...:)

HI soulsinging, I had surgery last Thursday morning and I have been home for two days now and I just cry over anything lately......It all is a bit of a blur!
putting in my contacts, getting a drink of water, sitting down quickly or standing up, walking to the mailbox, scratching my back, brushing my teeth, and taking a shower are all things normal people can do on a daily basis, not me right now!! :(

Thank you, you are always so cheerful and nice!!

Yes it does. If you've recently had an anaesthetic and surgery you can have post surgery blues. Maybe that's what is contributing?
Anyway, I hope you're feeling better soon.

Hey woman, hope you feel better.
If I can get you anything le me know LOL.
Really, try to cheer up, this is not like you.
Sweep the Leg Johnny.
That is what I'm reading about online....that anaesthetic can cause memory loss and lots of crying! I dont have memory loss...well a little bit, but I do have the crying!!

sounds frustrating. i had lung surgery but it doesn't sound like the follow up was quite as demanding. good luck.
LUNG SURGERY?
What was wrong, if you don't mind me askin?!

Yes. It happens to me too. I get very weepy after an anaesthetic.
Least if you know about it makes it a bit easier to deal with.

Yes, my recovery nurse (which I had to spend all day and night in recovery because they couldn't wake me up to go into my room) told me that I was crying the minute I went down and cried the minute I woke up from it! My husband said that all the nurses said I was sweet and they were very helpful...so I'm glad the nurses weren't a bunch of meanies that some people sometimes get!!

Good nurses make a huge difference.
I usually wake up too soon and scare them!

my lung collapsed on two different occasions. i was in the hospital for a week both times. the second time they did surgery on it.
I'm sorry you had such a hard time in the recovery room. That place wasn't the greatest for me either, although not to the degree that you experienced. They were just concerned that I was a little too coherent after they dosed me with enough drugs to just about kill me.
You'll feel better soon, I know you will. And as much as it hurts to laugh I recommend doing it as much as possible, even with a little support in just the right place.
That made a GIGANTIC difference for me in last year's surgery.
