I went to a Barbecue at a lake earlier around 2pm.....

I'm not only red as can be (I wore tons of sunscreen too) but I feel like I might have had a heat stroke....WTF? This heat is bad right now and it's only the end of May!! I took three advils and I am drinking lots of water..


I did have fun though and I ate too much, but I'm not leaving the house tomorrow at all!

    It's all about buying a big jug of aloe, stuffing it in the fridge, and then putting it on when it's nice and cold.

    Sorry to hear that, I had sun poisoning once and it sucked ass.
    I'll ride the wave where it takes me.

    Heat stroke will kill you....heat exhaustion will make you sick - drink lots of water and lay on some nice cool sheets....At least, that's what my doctor friend told me when I was moaning that I had heat stroke after a long hot hike in the blazing sun...

    LOTS of water, a tylenol wont hurt, and DO NOT put on any aloe....esp if its a sunburn.

    Aloe feels cool, and will make the skin feel cool, but ultimately it will close your pores and will block the heat from escaping the skin.

    If you can take a warm shower to open the pores, then gradually cool the water....not cold. (Cold will also close your pores)

    the goal is to open the pores so heat can escape. Aloe, moisturisers, chemical sprays and codl water will all mess with your skin. they might feel nice for a while, but they will ultimately take MUCH longer to heal and cool.

    Warm, then cool.

    And the idea about the cool sheets should work too.

    Thanks for the info, I am so much better now, but the cold sheets thingy will help out if I'm a dumbass at the next BBQ!! ;)
