  • How infamous would Saw be if they left it at one? Now it will be a joke like Freddy and Jason. What a shitty series this is turning into. "It's Halloween, might as well release another Saw film".

    Absolutely

Plus, the torturing that went on was intense

They jumped the shark when they first decided to make a sequel.
“Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you’ve got about a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies — ‘God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.’” - Kurt Vonnegut

As has been said by most in this thread, this series should have been stopped after the first.

The first was very original in story, in execution, and in it's methods of shocking the audience. The twist was superb, and at the time it was the best horror film I had seen in years. The first sequel was an extremely poor attempt to capitalise on the gruesome nature of the aforementioned shocking methods(deaths), and the story was not taken anywhere interesting. The 3rd was so unbelievably terrible thatwhen I saw it in the cinema no one in the audience cared when a technical glitch cut out the sound for fifteen minutes. A guy at the back started making up his own hilarious lines to fit in with the scenes, and it was far more entertaining than the movie actual movie had been until this point.
I saw about 5 minutes of the 4th and I new immediately that I didn't nee (or want) to watch anymore. The fact that a 5th is even being made at all really saddens me.

It is a bit let down once you've seen the first one that, there is really nothing new that makes you go "oh man!!" quite like the first movie did.

Saying that though I found this to be entertaining in a sense of, I've got nothing better to do today. The traps are still cool, the story is entertaining to a point.

I wish they'd end it though. Make a good ending to a series that should have ended at most by the third movie

The endings always have a twist but nothing quite like the first.

    3 1/2 out of 5

My fiance and my brother are seeing it right now... lame!

The first one freaked me out so badly I couldn't finish it. I've never had that reaction to a movie before! It wasn't even the violence; it was that scene in the apartment with the camera flashes... ugh.

I got talked into seeing the second one, and I thought it was stupid. From what I have heard, seen and Wikipedia'd, the first one really captured the perfect combination of gorey horror and suspense. But Saw II was so gimmicky! I also think I am the only person in the world who thinks the Jigsaw Killer's mask is clown-ish and stupid. Everything is creepy in context, but come on!
