Bad loss. Looks like it could very well be Boston or Pittsburgh in Rd 1.

yeah and with the Rangers winning that clinched second place for them :(

not sure if any of you guys caught the Frozen Four this weekend but this Gotisbehere dude from Union College is a freaking stud. Totally dominated in the championship game. Barry Melrose said it was the best game he's ever seen a college defensemen play. Would love to see the Flyers sign him for the playoffs like the Bruins did with a guy last year and at least put him on the power play. even if they don't bring him in year think this kid is going to be an NHL star.

fuck the Rangers. Flyers in 6

Ghost needs to add 15-20lbs of meat/muscle before he is NHL ready.

I wish the Frozen Four was a different weekend, just too busy with youth sports.

    +7 is pretty impressive.

Thursday will be a pretty good time to stops this streak.

    Let's go Flyers!

    http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/sports/flyers/NHL-botches-Flyers-Rangers-playoff-schedule.html

In a way, the NHL spit in the faces of the Flyers and New York Rangers when it released its Stanley Cup playoff schedule Sunday.

But, hey, it DID manage to get the teams onto national TV on consecutive Sundays!

The Flyers-Rangers schedule is a joke, mostly because if the series goes the limit, the teams will play Games 6 and 7 on consecutive nights at different arenas. Oh, and if the series goes the distance, the last three games will be played over four nights.

But, hey, two big-market teams will be on national TV on consecutive Sundays!

    What a sham.

If this series goes seven games, the winner will be worn down by the condensed schedule and will be at a severe disadvantage in the next round against the Pittsburgh-Columbus survivor.

The Penguins and Blue Jackets do not have any games scheduled on back-to-back nights. In fact, none of the other seven playoff series have teams playing on consecutive nights, let alone three games in four nights.

The NHL, which somehow has 16 teams in one conference and 14 in the other, continues to shoot itself in the foot.

The league doesn’t care. After all, the Flyers and Rangers figure to get big national TV ratings, and, sadly, that’s all that seems to matter to commissioner Gary Bettman and his sidekicks.

They need to make it a PLAYOFF again and have back-to-back for every series. Just like old-time Hockey>LOL! Playoffs are SUPPOSE to be hard. Hell, when does the Stanley Cup Finals end?(if it goes 7 games)> July 4th?>LOL!

Though i do agree that it makes no sense what the NHL is doing with the Flyers-Rangers series(when NO other series is doing that :back-to-back for games 6 & 7 with 3 games in 4 nights)

Will be interesting to see if Mason makes Game 1. Apparently he got a concussion.

Whats everybody think of the play by the Penguin pushing the D into Mason?

Would have been nice. A little sad that nothing was done, especially considering it was done by our biggest rivals.

The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have signed defenseman Andrew MacDonald to a multi-year contract extension today, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.

MacDonald was acquired by the Flyers around this year's trade deadline on March 4 from the NY Islanders, and since joining the team, has four assists in 19 games and recorded over 20 minutes of ice-time in 14 of those games, including a Flyers-high of 28:49 at Pittsburgh on Apr. 12.

The 6-1, 190-pound defenseman led all NHL players in blocked shots this season with 242 and was one of three players in the NHL with over 200 blocks.

He finished the season with four goals and 24 assists for 28 points in 82 games between the Islanders and Flyers.

    More coming shortly...

As a Pens fan (so take that for what it's worth), who has had to witness way too many questionable/bad plays by too many players in recent years, I thought it was a bullshit play by Megna: instead of trying to stick it to their rivals by putting a goal up, he pushes the D into Mason like a pussy. Agreed, he should've been pummeled. I hope Mason comes back soon, quality goaltender.

Hearing he might be out for the series, hopefully not cause we would be pretty screwed.
