I think he meant to get to the cup in the east not win it.

which I agree, but I do think that we can beat Boston but would have a hard time against the rangers

Oh my bad - "going to the cup" - got it. Yeah, that's a possibility. I think we beat Devils or Panthers in 5 if that's how it works out.

    nothing will be a cruise.....

i agree that boston and NY are better than the rest of the contenders in the east, but we all know, anything can happen.

Yeah, it's not quite the choice of words I would use. Maybe they'll be favorites going in, but we all know how much that mean.

i would agree they would become the favorites in the east if the rangers and bruins were to lose.

i think one of those two will get thru..

yes I mean cruise through the East. None of the other teams in the east are real scary other than bruins or rangers. florida has some talent but i think flyers smoke ottawa and/or washington.

and Johnny i really like that Nashville team. Rinne is a stud in goal. I think Nashville is getting through the west.

Yeah they are really good. My pick for the Cup going into the playoffs.

Let's remember, the Flyers always seem to struggle against the Sens. I would much rather face Florida, but even they aren't a team you look past.

I'd rank the matchups in this preference:

1- Devils (we know them and we know we can beat them)
2- Panthers (aside from the haunting of that 1996 series, they really aren't scary)
3- Capitals (they will probably blow the Bruins series, because they're the Caps and blow series is what they do)
4- Senators (they seem to be matching up well with the Rags, but I think the Rangers' lack of scoring punch is making them look better than they are)
5- Bruins (they are just really tough and know how to win - I hope this matchup gets delayed to the 3rd round, its rightful place)
6- Rangers (they can't score, except against the Flyers, against whom they win every game 5-2)

So we need a Bruins & Senators win, then we'll just take whoever comes out of NJ/Fla. Sound good? 8-)
