Any Couples SKIP Valentine's Day ?

  • My husband, being the stay-at-home parent, has no money to buy me anything for Valentine's day. So, yes, we're skipping it, too. If I can find a good deal on filet mignon, then we'll make that together for dinner. Also, I gave him a recipe for a dessert I wanted and I told him that's what I want for Valentine's day. We'll see what happens. I don't expect anything
I really screwed that up. I really Schruted it.

  • My Wife and I have decided to ignore these corporate holidays. They just seem to be created to make people spend money on useless shit that just ends up in the garbage anyway. If you love someone and they love you why should only one day be used to show your affection. Do it everyday.

    I forgot to mention my wife's B-Day is Feb 24th !

I would rather celebrate her Birthday with more then waste it on V Day

Mine is the 18th, I usually get a little something one day or the other.
    He gets a card.
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

Been married for 15 years, we haven't done anything special for Valentines Day for a long time. Seems a bit silly, puts way too much pressure on one day.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

  • my bf and i are in the service industry (him:bartender, me:server)so we've always had to work that day. we usually come home exhausted, open a bottle of champagne and promptly pass out. luckily this year we both have jobs at the same fancy restaurant, so at least we'll be able to wave at each other while we're working. and to the people who talk about making a nice dinner at home, go with that plan!! seriously, v-day is the busiest day of the year for restaurants, do you really want to eat at a loud crowded place with frantic servers running around? just my two cents! ;-)

My wife and I are just buying each other cards

It's a total waste of money in my opinion to go overboard

When I hear all these commercials they almost guilt you in to buying something

I didn't read any other post but this one. My friend at work has been married nearly 17 years. They don't want to spend the money on Valentine's, would rather do something "special" for no reason some other day of the year and tell each other they love the other every day. She did tell me that they go the card store on Valentine's, together....read cards and when they find one they like, they say "here's your card". When they're done reading, they put them back and leave. I thought that was the best idea ever!
believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.

Mine is the 10th. I'm a firm believer in celebrating my birthday for the entire month. And that includes the 14th. Thursdays are Survivor Thirsty Thursdays with my mom - martinis, dinner, laughs. That's what I'm doing on Thursday - just another day in the month of my birthday. :D

We won't be. We don't buy into it. Everyday is basically Valentines for us I guess. We find sincere ways to show each other our love every day. :)

Skipping it. Going to grill some steaks and steam some asparagus and bake some potatoes and have a nice dinner at home.
