I just read NJ might make it a first offense for talking on your cell while driving

Used to be you could talk and no ticket unless you got pulled over for a different moving violation

I know they passed the "Hands free Only"

You can usually pick out the people on cell phones while you're driving

You can usually tell by the driving that someone is on the cell phone.

There was an accident in our town recently where four teen-age girls died because the driver was texting. She crashed two seconds after her message was sent.

It was sad for the families. :(

I see people texting and drving.......I do it when stopped at a red light but not while driving

Its banned here, which im not saying is wrong, but i dont see the difference in that and messing around with your radio or cd/mp3 player, or sat nav thing.

Some people want the hands free kits banned as well, but how are they any more distracting than having someone else in the car with you? Soon you will only be allowed one person in the car, in their own sound proof dome lol
People say im paranoid. Well, they dont say it, but i know that's what they are thinking.

As Stu gee says it's been illegal for awhile here. Apparently it may soon be the case you can be had for driving without due care and attention if your involved in an accident while smoking (in the UK). This doesn't apply to eating a sandwich.

Some Townships in NJ they are banning smoking while driving if you have children in the car

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

I see your point about CD's,Nav

But I would say you're usually on the phone for awhile which would lead to distractions

Most times when you change a CD or NAV its a few seconds (anything taking your eyes off the road is bad I agree with)though the NAV usually has a voice over to tell you where you're going

That is crazy, you'd be fucking raging lol

That would tip someone who thought they had the worst luck in the world right over the edge.

  • In NY, you can't use a cell phone without a handsfree device.... I'm not sure if they can pull you over just for that though.

The thing that irritates me, is half of the cops that you drive by are talking on their phones.

I seem to remember there was one for eating a sandwich as well. Found this http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/5341720.stm

"Speeding, using a mobile phone, reading a map, eating, drink-driving, plus many others incidents, could all be considered as dangerous and/or careless driving. "

GPS can fall under the mobile phone law as well.
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?
