So do I...ugh I'm so bummed I'm not gonna be able to see it this weekend. This is just one movie that caught my attention quickly and I want to see it now.
Booo! Go see it anyway. Take a big grisly guy to protect you. Or better yet, wear a mask while watching it. So you enjoy the movie but you can't possibly be scared as you're freaking everyone else out while watching it with a mask on.
You got to spend it all

Interesting
I was reading the message board and didn't think to connect the Manson Murders to this movie

In the production notes for "The Strangers," the film's writer-director Bryan Bertino explains just what "true events" the film is based on:
"That part of the story came to me from a childhood memory. As a kid, I lived in a house on a street in the middle of nowhere. One night, while our parents were out, somebody knocked on the front door and my little sister answered it. At the door were some people asking for somebody that didn't live there. We later found out that these people were knocking on doors in the area and, if no one was home, breaking into the houses. In 'The Strangers,' the fact that someone is at home does not deter the people who've knocked on the front door; it's the reverse."

It's AFTER the fact, when I'm awake and have to turn off the lights and go to bed that I get scared.
Plus, I'm am in love with Liv Tyler so I HAVE to see it!!!
I still peek when I'm in the shower to make sure no one is coming at me with a knife
The scenes in this movie are freaky when the masked people don't talk and just stare

what lead you to this story as the inspiration for The Strangers?
I don't really understand what makes this more appealing than all those other terrible movies though...
I did a google search on The Strangers and a wikipedia link showed up
That's where it said about the Keddie Murders

Okay, thanks.
I was wondering because other than being in the woods or mountains (or where ever) the two stories are very different, I know when they say “inspired by true events” just about anything, but the Keddie murders would make one hell of a movie if they stayed true to the facts.
Yeah, that's what hit me about the "True Events"
Did you see the what I copied and pasted from the other message board about what the Director meant by True Events ?

I just read it, that’s pretty scary.
I agree. After spending some time on the "Keddie" site, I think a story of those murders would be far scarier and more unsettling.

The Ghost Hunters should go there and investigate.
well, i know i will see it....but i'm afraid. it's like the feeling you get before you ride the really big roller coaster. and then there's going home to a dark apartment when the movie is over !
You got to spend it all
Not too shabby
I would say it was good.....nothing great
A few moments were tense or made your insides jump
Kind of sick and twisted...they way I like these movies
No spoilers unless you want them
