I Need Advice**My Friend was drugged at a bar

I dont think this is the correct thread to post something like this. But i really need advice and figured this is the most viewed thread.

Two nights ago one of my good friends was meeting her friend at one of the local bars. When she showed up she noticed that a guy she semi-dated was there and it turns out he sexually assaulted her a few months back. So like any normal being she avoided confronting him and continued to socialize. Later that night the semi-ex boyfriend's buddy approached her, she was unaware of who he was so they started to talk. A few minutes later he left after putting ACID in her drink. My friend ended up tripping in this bar alone and obviously freaking out. She was later taken home by a very nice couple and they stayed with her for the rest of the night. They talked and told my friend that they know who put the acid in her drink, and knows that he is heavy on the drugs.

My question is, if we know WHO the person is....is there anything that can be done legally? I'd really like to put this asshole in jail instead of kicking his ass.

    that's fucked up.....not sure if it's a crime or not....i'd check with your local authorities....call the cops and ask.....

    yeah call the cops and if that doesn't work ,invite the creep out and drug him with sleeping pills and take him tie him to a tree naked with honey all over him make sure there are ants around ,that should fix him but really call the cops and see if anything can be done ....

    call the cops, have fun, i would be revengful but it never did any good so just let the athorities take care of it.

    In Scottish law this would without a doubt be a crime.People have been convicted of similar acts here.Its concerning that you say she was previously sexually assaulted by the semi ex.Was that reported at the time?You say the drugging incident was a few days ago now.Was that reported?If not it needs to be reported a.s.a.p.
    I don't want to sound harsh as well but if she had previously been in danger in the semi ex's presence should she have stayed in the bar?If the event is investigated and the previous assault is uncovered a defence would character annihilate that it hadn't been reported and that your friend had remained in the bar when the semi ex was there.I certainly wouldn't want to stay in a bar where an ex abuser was.
    I am not saying that women or men should not be allowed to choose where to socialise or are to blame for any event that occurs but sadly in society today we all must have personal responsibility to keep ourselves safe.
    I had a drink spiked once by a man I didn't know who took offence at my refusal of his advances.It was one of the scariest experiences of my life,I thought I was dying.The police were called but he had left the pub and I didn't know anything about him.My friends got me home.
    I wish your friend well and hope the situation is sorted out.Your support will be invaluable to her just now.

    Wow, luckily things turned out ok and those two people were in the right place.

    I'm normally someone to be non violent, but if someone ever did that to anyone I knew and cared about, I don't know what I would do.

    One side of me says to definitely call the police.

    Does she have any proof? I'm not trying to defend that guy at all because I think he's a total dirtbag, but without proof, she really doesn't have anything. Even with the people saying she was tripping, how would anyone know how she got to that point unless there was some sort of proof.

    I guess it wouldn't hurt to call the cops and see what happens.

    i knew i forgot to do something to the round of drinks I bought for some ladies last night.... uh yeah....

    what low lives needs to spike drinks?.. they should be culled! :)

    go and make use of a brothel any drink spiking losers out there, and you don't even deserve that!

    the cops might know what you can do...

    im pretty sure that someone slipping an illegal substance into someone's drink is pretty , well, not legal. The only trouble is, might be hard to prove it unless you have hard core witnesses. If thats the case, take that fucker to court!

    It actually happend last night. And you guys are probably right, it'd be really hard to prove that he put it in there.
    Im usually not a violent person, but god damn i want to beat his ass. I suppose i could set up a drug deal somewhere dark with him and just have cops waiting right around the corner....or kick his ass.

    Don't bars have cameras? Call the police and and the bar and see if you can round up some survelliance footage. There may be some crucial evidence on that tape or tapes.

    Yes, anyone in possession of a drug can be prosecuted for the crime. I'm not sure what type of sentence the dude will get, (I'm not an officer or or knowledgeable on court prosecution) but yeah, he will definitely be doing some time if you can round up some evidence and get witnesses to testify who saw it and were present at the scene who saw what happened.

    You should definitely notify the authorities immediately about this situation. These two creeps might do the same thing to future ex-girlfriends or any other vulnerable female out there.

    If she's 100% sure she was assaulted by the ex, whether she has proof or not, just get the word out to the authorities! The cops might even already have some claims or reports on him already from other women, you'll never know.

    yeah you really should call the cops and make some sort of report against him.

    ask the bar staff if anyone has CCTV cameras
    Ask the bar staff if any of them know the guy or saw him do it
    If you can contact the people who brought her home then ask them to help you with your report.

    How do these 2 nice people know who put acid in her drink? If they saw someone do it, why would they let her drink it? Don't get that part..

    Anyways..call the cops, for sure. Don't worry about having proof. At least you can file the report and get it on record.

    I think she should definitely call the police. Its a shame the drink wasn't saved as evidence. It is possible he did it so she'd act strange in public which could reduce her credibility in front of the witnesses in the bar who saw it happening.

    If the guy assaulted her she should have reported this in the first place surely.

    Doubt there is anyway you'd be able to prove he put something in her drink this time round anyway.
    People say im paranoid. Well, they dont say it, but i know that's what they are thinking.

    First of all why waste acid on another person!!!

    Second, what the hell is wrong with those sick people.

    If some prick ever assualts me sexually and if i see him again in the bar i would call the police there and then....or if i haven't got anything to prove he assaulted me i just stalk him and ruin his car or do something to his house.

    Bad guys. People like that only respond getting locked up or getting the shit kicked out of them.
    I suggest you call the cops. If it was me, I would take matters into my own hands. But, I do not do the right thing when I am angry. Do do the first thing.
