Having been in the market for a relatively small and simple digital camera for a while now, I thought bugger it - why not find one that's compatible with a good quality underwater housing given the amount of time I spend spearfishing and generally in and around the water!
So I found a Canon Powershot A570IS camera realllll cheap for about $170 and buying the housing in a couple of weeks...
Just wondering if there any other people out there who regularly or even occasionally take underwater photos?? If so, are there any simple or even advanced tips and suggestions anyone can pass on to myself and anyone else interested??
I've read up a fair bit and have a rough idea of what to expect but I guess the best way is to get out there and see how it goes!
If anyone has any photos they'd like to share too...feel free to post them in here for all to enjoy!

When I was snorkeling in Jamaica, I bought a couple of underwater disposable cameras, and they actually came out pretty good! I was surprised. Granted Jamaica water is crystal clear, and has tons of sunshine. I would suggest just getting those, that way you're not taking a chance on ruining a 170 dollar camera."It's all happening"0

your biggest concerns are always going to be lighting and visibility0

Scubascott has taken some gorgeous underwater photographs and shared MANY here. i dont know if he still visits or not, but i'd suggest shooting him a PM, i'd bet if he checks in from time to time...he'd be more than happy to share his tips and knowledge. even within the thread i think he DOES offer a fw pointers, etc.
good luck...enjoy...and definitely post some pics if/when you ever take some! start a thread on the art wall, you can actually post the acual pics, rather than just links to pics.Stay with me...
