New Yorkers...did I get screwed?

I stayed with a buddy in White Plains for the MSG shows. When I bought my train ticket, I also threw a couple bucks on a MetroCard because I knew I'd take a subway ride or two. When I tried to use the MC, it said that the value couldn't be used until June 30. The completely unhelpful woman told me I had purchased "pre-value."

What the shit is that about?

    u got screwed by the subway system like we all do occasionally
