Not a fan of Maher, even if he occasionally makes some good points. If he really had balls, he'd deviate a bit from the classic liberal-leaning political comedian targets (e.g., Christianity).

you musn't watch him very often. he's pretty much an equal-opportunity insulter. i've seen him beg nader not to run. that was a good show. :D

Of course he would... he voted Bob Dole.

Don't even get me started on his flip flopping on politics, ugh. See his flip flopping on Ron Paul, Ralph Nader, etc.

More importantly it is the context, for instance Michael Richards and Bill Maher clearly had hatred for the people they were discussing.

That's absolutely not true. Bill Maher has time and time again said he doesn't like organized religion. He has stated over and over again that while he doesn't like it and thinks it's crazy, people should be able to do, believe, worship and say as they wish.

    Wow!
Not sure how you got "hatred" out of that.

It seems as if everyone is getting hung up on the "Nazi" comment. You can toss that as far as I'm concerned. His commentary on the child abuse scandal is where I think he really nails it.

It's true. When it's not election year he blasts the Dems through and through and then once it's time to vote again you can't pull him out of their asses long enough to get an unbiased opinion.

but then, that's most liberals I know.
