I want to take this girl I really like to a concert by a performer that she is totally into and has never seen (but I'm not into at all although I've heard the perormance is very good by people I know who have seen the show) and, in short, make it the BEST day of her life and one designed to make her always remember. She likes romance and things or gifts of a romantic nature a lot although at this time we are only really good friends.

I already have several things/surprises in mind but I'm interested in any off-the-wall and/or inventive ideas/suggestions.

Thanks in advance !

The next time the two of you are alone, say the following:

You: "Honey, you know how you're always going on and on about that one performer -whatever is name is?"

Her: "Uh, yeah, I guess. Sorry, I didn't know it bothered you."

You: "Well, I would tell you, but I don't want you to get upset like you always do."

    Her: "Ok..."

You: "So, I was going to buy myself this killer Skate that I've been wanting, but I thought that I should do something nice for you since you are my girlfriend and I know that women tend to get resentful when their boyfriends don't buy them anything."

Her: "You know what, don't worry about it. Whatever it is you bought me, you can take it back."

You: "I already bought it, OK?! See how ingrateful you are!?" *Reaches into pocket to pull out crumpled up concert tickets and throws them at her*

You: "Just don't say I never did anything for you."

    J/K.

I say don't tell her about it until the night of the concert. But, reserve that night for the two of you in her schedule by telling her the two of you are going to do something else like watch a movie.

Then take her out to dinner that night. During dinner, whip out the concert tickets. Also tell her that you reserved a night at a swanky hotel in the area. I recommend the Residence Inn.

Take a cab to and from the concert and back to the hotel so that the two of you can get as trashed as you both like while not having to worry about who is driving.

Remember to have money for t-shirts, posters..etc.

This sounds good... actually tell her that you need her to do you a favour and be your guest to *insert boring event here*. Say you wouldn't ask but you're really desperate and she'd be doing you a HUGE favour and you'll make it up to her. So that way she'll definitely keep the night free but be expecting something kinda crappy. Tell her you'll pick her up at whatever time... pick her up in a limo :) (ok, I don't know your budget, lol) and THEN proceed pick it up at sponger's dinner :)

thanks for the input so far.....money is no object even though I'm only a server at a nice restaurant(as compared to a job requiring a college degree).

I have never been into using limousines....to me they are too fancy and neither one of us drinks a lot so there really is no need in that regard. Plus, I'm trying to keep it a surprise for as long as possible, until it's almost time for the concert and that might lead her to suspect something is up and she is also not the limousine "type".
