And you don't care for football, what the hell do you like? Cricket?! Table tennis? Fox hunting? It seems when your team isn't performing or the season is over it could get quite depressing if you're a big sports fan.

  • I don't really give a shit about sport... in general.

Except wheelchair basketball... that's pretty awesome.

Well, I'm Irish, and our main sports are football, rugby, Gaelic football and hurling.
In the off season, we really don't have anything. It does suck unless you like Cricket. which I don't.

Around here, hurling is one of the top sports amongst college students. :p

Football, rugby union, rugby league, cricket and generally in the off-season there are international games going on in a lot of these sports.

Then F1, motoGP, boxing, snooker, darts :p, tennis, golf, athletics ... there's always some sport on
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

true :( winter can be pretty miserable for a sports fan... but like chime said, there's always the odd international, or club matches too... I think winter's a miserable time for the armchair sports fan :) . If you're willing to play or go support in the stands you'd find sport somewhere.

funny thing is... those who make fun of hurling... I'd love to see them stand in the middle of a pitch during a match for ONE MINUTE :D

(obviously they wouldn't last that long... but I threw in the extra 50 seconds cos they deserve the torture for slagging our beloved sport :o:) )

Hurling is awesome. I'd love to play it but it looks kinda scary. The speed with which those sticks are being swung about at head height

    :D

  • I'm really into Darts at the minute, there isn't many sports that requires you to get completely hammered to perform at your maximum ability now is there! :P

Think Fox hunting is an illegal activity nowadays.

Once the football season ends, mostly sweet Fanny Adams for me as far as sports viewing goes.

tennis, rugby, golf, F1, Olympics, etc

basically every sport that you in america watch except for US Football, Baseball and Basketball as they all have 28483 ad breaks and the sheer amount of rules drives us insane.
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Plus the off season for football isn't that long. If your team is in the promotion play-offs (fingers crossed eh Dunk :o:D) the season goes on 'til the end of May and then it starts again at the beginning of August. So it's usually when people are off doing other things anyway ... holidays, attending weddings, bbq's etc at weekends.
