Major League Baseball is TOTALLY out of kilter! Have you all seen the

major power stats? Or rather the pitching ERA's? Is it not more obvious

now than ever that the league was a complete and utter FARCE the last

15 - 20 years! Bud Selig sold out the sport much like the current president

of the US has sold out this country.

The most telling stat thus far is the american league homerun leader, which

is the Chicago White Sox outfielder Carlos Quentin(??) with a whopping

total of 10 homers!!! Can you say a return to the "dead ball" era?

Finally, take a look at all the major hitting stats for the national league.

You will see the name Lance Berkman at the top or near top in every

single catagory, yes that Lance Berkman from the Houston Astros! Berkman

has always been a wonderful hitter, but not in this years fashion.

I'll leave the pitching stats for another time.......

Baseball 2008 is pure nostalgia. It looks and feels like the early 80's. Ha,ha

Bud Selig you are complete "sell out" and the final laugh will be at you and

your fucked up legacy!

How is Selig a sell out??? Because he tried to clean up the game and get steriods out of baseball???

    All-Star game- agree
Steriods and Cap- owners play a larger role in both of those than Selig or any commissioner could. With the money rolling in, what's to stop the owners from paying outrageous amounts of money to players and not worry about how they put up their numbers....

salary caps are evil. Spend the freaking money!
Bud did a lot that needs to be criticized but not that. The realignment was all for his Brewers.
    Go Get 'Em Tigers!

Selig knew what was going on during the 90's. His game was on life support after the strike. All of a sudden, HR numbers explode, as do players bodies. How many guys gained 30-40 pounds of muscle "over the winter" then went on to hit 40+ HR's. these were light hitting, 10-15 HR guys, all of a sudden hitting 40, or 50 even. We all knew it. Check out ESPN Classic someday and watch an All Star game from the 1980's. The players all look puny, and those were the best players of that era.

There are 2 explanations for Bud Selig on the steroid era. He knew about it, and turned a blind eye towards it because it brought in billions of dollars, and he is the dumbest person on the planet. The only reason he became so "anti-steroid" is because the heat got turned up on him.

A big complaint I have with Bud is the start time of playoff and World Series games. How can you expect kids and people who have to get up for work in the morning to stay up all night watching a game. Kids are the future fans and ticketbuyers for your sport, and you set it up so they can watch 1 inning of the All Star Game before they have to go to bed. I can understand when there's a West Coast team involved, but there's no excuse for it when it's Yankees/Red Sox, or 2 other East Coast teams, they need to start these games earlier, and even have a few day games in the playoffs/WS. they start these games after 8:30. I would love a 2:00 P.M start of 1 or 2 WS games each year.

He and all the owners turned a blindeye to it... so how can you only blame Selig for doing what was in the best interests of baseball??? They were generating tons of money in revenue after a horrible stirke shortened season. And what do owners love more than money??? Nothing. So to only blame Selig for the steriod era is severely shortsighted.

  • I don't blame him only, but I'm not buying his "shock, and outrage" over discovering that there were steroids in his game. He knew about it, an dhe's a sresponsible for that era as anyone who stcuk a needle up their ass
