Found a ferret, now what?

Found a ferret walking in the road last night. Posted on the CT web site for found and lost pets and called animal patrol, who does not have any room for the animal at this time.
Besides putting up some signs what should I do? Never had a ferret before, he seems pretty happy hanging out in a big plastic tote but can not keep him. Gave him some dry cat food and some people food and letting him run amuck for a few hours at a time.
Any suggestions?

It sounds tame enough... just advertise that you found it, can't find it's owner, comes without cage etc...
... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

What'choo talkin' 'bout, Willis? I know these three nihilists down in L.A. who keep one on a leash and use it to terrify people in bathtubs.

Actually, ferrets can be quite dangerous... maybe you have a point...
