I was surprised Toronto was #17 overall better than the Yankees.

No surprise Philly was last in Hospitality (ie fans).... ohhh well, not gonna change just to make opposing fans feel better about coming to the ballpark.

they should've been first in food, though. we're labeled the fattest city, we may as well get the perks of that. :D (i know, i know, we're not anymore...)

    cool survey.

New Busch is #5...that's probably about right.
  • As a Yankee fan, I am surpirised that they ranked only 29th in affordability and food. I can't believe there's a stadium with a more expensive ticket, and worse food

Ok, just checked. Only Shea has worse food than Yankee Stadium. Greatest city in the world, and you can't get a decent hot dog at a ballgame

I agree that this list is lame. While I love the Brewers and despise the Cubs, there is no way Miller Park is a better stadium than Wrigley.
    7/8/95, 6/26/98, 6/27/98, 8/17/98, 8/18/00, 8/20/00, 8/21/00, 10/8/00, 10/21/00, 6/16/03, 6/18/03, 6/21/03, 6/22/03, 6/24/03, 10/3/04, 9/11/05, 9/12/05, 9/13/05, 9/15/05, 9/16/05, 5/16/06, 5/17/06, 5/20/06, 6/24/06, 6/30/06
  • It's not just a ranking of which stadiums are best. It taks into account ticket prices, food quality, neighborhoods, how smart the fans are, etc...

Honestly, I've worn my Red Sox jersey 6 times to the Phillies ballpark and no one cared. I think other than if the Mets are in town, Phillies fans are really tame.

Ohhh that's very true... but we do have a rep ;) And once you have that rep, there's no getting past it. Hell imagine if we weren't dead last in hospitality, they Bank would probably be ranked top 5.

Curious, have you been to other ballparks?

I grew up at Fenway ... and I've been to about 10 - 15 other places ... you know, I think they hit the nail on the head, at least in the individual rankings. Tradition, Fenway = #1 ... makes sense. Things like affordability, traffic and hospitality ... yeah, it's piss poor.

maybe the weight of tradition should carry it higher? Maybe that's what your'e saying. But, seriously, aside from tradition, the area (which ranked #7)and the fact I love the Sox, the place doesn't do much for me.

Can't believe Oakland wasn't last ... worst place I've ever been to, by far.

Oh, and for the Record ... Fan IQ ... Red Sox #2, Yankees #3 ... HA HA!

And I'll take a back seat to Cards fans on this one, it's the most passionate fanbase I've been around, they jsut don't act like assholes when their team is doing shitty.

How they put the sox above the cubs is beyond me... I think the cubs scored higher atmosphere-wise--- way too many numbers!!!

you've obviously never stood in two inches of piss and let mr. happy drain himself in a metal bathtub.

wrigley is completely falling apart....that's why they are in negotiations to play at us cellular for a year....so they can completely repair (and add aky boxes) to the old shrine.

don't romanticize wrigley b/c it's old. there's obstructed views...there's piss on your shoes...there's no parking.
if it wasn't for harry caray (and the cubs didn't draw before he got there), that place woulda been torn down years ago.

    fuckin' yuppies.
