  • Gators will have no trouble demolishing John Parker Wilson (I cringe every time I hear that name) and the Tide. Meanwhile, I can take a little solace in knowing that my Rebels were the ones who got the Gators heads out of their asses and brought about their run to then national title.

I try....there's one thing about being a fan of a second-tier or bottom-dwelling team...you can kind of pick other teams to root for that are in the battle for better things. Of course, Nutt gave us a good season this year so we'll back to playing january ball for the first time since Eli's days.
I don't believe there is any team in the nation that the Gators would not run off the field at this point....Ole Miss is pretty good but I still can't for the life of me figure out how in the hell they beat Florida in the Swamp...perhaps just a case of them overlooking the Rebels

Florida seemed to lack focus in the first half of the season. Ole Miss woke them up (that and Tebow puling the team together). Ole Miss was underrated this year. It was kind of a perfect storm.

I wonder if OSU will be playing Bama in a BCS game. That could be ugly. Though if the Buckeyes show up for once, it would go a long way to restoring some credibility for them.

That's true, but I never expect too much. Right now, though, I do believe Ole Miss is quite possibly one of the 10 best teams in the nation...well, 15 at least....they're playing great ball. That game, I think, served both teams well

I would tend to believe that would be ugly. A win in that matchup would give OSU some credibility but I just can't see it happening....the Buckeyes and the rest of the Big 10 just aren't on the same level

I don't know about that last statement. I don't think OSU is as good as Bama, but I think the Big 10 stacks up well against the SEC this season. There were a lot of busts in the SEC.

Nah, SEC wasn't a strong at the top this season and that is obvious, but -- top to bottom -- there is still no comparing the two. The brand of defense in the SEC, if nothing else, sets it apart from the Big 10.

Edit: I don't know, maybe I overstate it a little bit, but this season is one of the rare seasons when the SEC just wasn't that strong....it won't last though.....next season the Big 10 will be just as mediocre as it is now

    SEC > Big 10

We'll find out. It looks like both conferences will have 2 BCS teams, setting up 3-4 matchups from both conference in bowl games. Georgia-MSU and Iowa-SC.

Yeah...I love bowl season. If it plays like it seems it will I give would the SEC a big edge in the BCS matchup (whether it be Florida or Alabama) and I think the other two possibilities you suggested could go either way.

From what I read, it looks like if OSU gets a BCS game it will be against the Big 12 in the Fiesta bowl... so Texas or Oklahoma. It's no good for OSU breaking their SEC curse, but it could still help their cred and they match up better against Big 12 teams. So it looks like the middle teams will be the main matchups... at least the depth of the conferences will be tested. It will be damn interesting!
