Bummer. I would have liked to see this guy take another step in destroying Sampras record and taking the first step toward this years Grand Slam.

He is hands down the best ever. I am old school, and it would have been great to throw him into the Sampras/Agassi era.

He is to Nadal what Sampras was to Agassi what Woods is to Mickelson/Singh. Imagine being that good at something and playing during the era when the best ever is playing? Thats got to be great and suck at the same time.

I would love to check out Australia and time it during this event. Anyone been to this tourney?
All that's sacred, comes from youth....dedications, naive and true.

yeah, I love the Australian Open because it has been a good 4-5 months since the US Open (I really only follow the grand slams) and it's the middle of winter and the matches are usually on at around 10 at night till 1 AM, so I can settle and stare at the tv till I feel tired enough to sleep.

Nonetheless, I am bummed to see Federer go down, but I figured it would be tough for him coming into this tournament due to the food poisoning over the New Year's and his lack of pre-tournament conditioning and training. Djokovich or however you spell looks like he has a bright future. I watched the final in Montreal on tv where he beat Federer (ok, I lied, sorry, I follow the 2 tournaments in Canada as well) and it seemed like today it was the same story. Hard to believe that Djokovich is only 20. Amazingly, Nadal went down too in the semis to that French dude who looks extremely intimidating, maybe this will catapult him to the top 10.

On the other side, the women's final "looks" amazing, specifically, the 2 are both extremely hot, all the more reason to watch tonight. I am glad Hanchucova (no clue) is back being competitve, because holy shit, those legs just get me every time. Another supreme tennis hottie.

I have had time off work, and I have gotten right into the open. Staying up till 4.30ish local time to watch Hewitt beat bagdhattis.

I cant believe Fed got knocked out. He is the most dominating athlete in the world atm in any sport.

How exciting is this Tsonga. Hopefully we will see a ripper final. The best final ever was Pat Rafter vs Ivanisaich which went to 9-7 fifth set at Wimbeldon.
Next year, hopefully our boy Hewitt can get up, find some form and kick some arse.

That Ivanisavic v Rafter final was great. But the Federer v Nadal French Open finals of the last few years also seem to go the distance.
To the original poster, it seems they don't want to sell full-strength beer at the aussie open next year, so you may have missed the best years of the tournament. Although I think the quality of the tennis this year has been better than previous years.
I only lied because it was the easiest way to get what I wanted.

    lol, it is horrible

I wish they would start craking down on this, it would really add to the enjoyment of watching players like her

tennis is kind of snobish in its rules to proper decorum, so why not penalize them when it gets excessive, which it is with her

its just bullshit is what it is. she's been allowed to get away with it for so long. her coaches should have done soemthing about it early on. i think i'd forfeit a game rather than play against her.
