People from Seattle - help please

I am writing a book set in Seattle. I have a couple specific questions, I think they're easy.

1. Is there fog in Seattle?

2. Is there a bad neighborhood - warehouses, homeless people, etc. - near Lake Union?

3. A park where you'd find prostitutes. I picked Magnuson Park cause it looked pretty from the pix I saw online. But is that accurate?

Thanks. Maybe PJ will announce a Seattle show soon so I'll have to come up to do the research in person.

    Yes, occasionally.

There are boatbuilding warehouses, abandoned areas, really nice areas with condos and parks around Lake Union. So it is conceivable that there would be homeless people in and around warehouses in parts of the lake. South Lake Union used to be pretty run down. Paul Allen has bought up a lot of the property and it is currently undergoing gentrification, but it used to be a pretty ugly part of the city.

Sorry, don't know for sure about that. I know Volunteer Park had a bad rep for years as the hookup place for public sex and drug use, but it is much less ugly now. Prostitutes can still be seen on Aurora Ave N / Hwy 99 just north of the city.

I'm hoping for a PJ show in Seattle as well! Are you writing a novel?

    1. Some, not a whole lot. More low clouds. Last night you couldn't see the tops of the buildings.

    2. South Lake Union.

    3. Aurora Avenue is the place to be!

I think the other questions were just a cover-up for the hooker question......kinda like going into the store to buy condoms, but you also buy milk & a National Enquirer just to make it look less obvious!!! :D

Thanks everybody. Yes, it's a novel. Sort of The Breakfast Club meets American Werewolf in London. I guess teen horror is really big right now. I have a rough draft, now I'm trying to make it accurate (the boring part).

    Thanks again.

    1. Is there fog in Seattle?
Yeah, we get fog here. More so on the coast, but it's a pretty regular occurrence here in the spring/summer. It's usually a day started by fog or a low overcast and burns off by the afternoon.

    2. Is there a bad neighborhood - warehouses, homeless people, etc. - near Lake Union?
Mmm, I'd say the neighborhoods around Lake Union aren't really that bad, in fact, they're pretty nice now. There are some sketchy places around Denny Park in south Lake Union, but other than that...around Seattle, hoods directly near a Lake are usually nice. There are more warehouses in the Sodo district (south downtown) south of Safeco Field. You can find homeless in any part of the city, but Capitol Hill, Pioneer Square and Belltown have shelters and programs for them there, so there tends to be more.

    3. A park where you'd find prostitutes. I picked Magnuson Park cause it looked pretty from the pix I saw online. But is that accurate?
I doubt it's very common for them to be wandering around a bunch of athletic fields or a pea patch in a fairly upscale neighborhood on Lake Washington. Freeway Park and Denny Park are pretty notorious for problems.
