The Official ARE THE COWBOYS MAKING THE PLAYOFFS Thread?

edited October 2008 in All Encompassing Trip
Well since the implosion has started a lot earlier than predicted, the question shifts from "will the Cowboys win their first playoff game since 1996" to if they will even qualify for the playoffs to get a chance to do so this year.

They are currently losing by 24 to the Rams, a team the Eagles and Giants both beat by 3 touchdowns earlier this year. The qb has a broken pinkie. The big off season acquisition, Pacman Jones, has been suspended indefinitely,as predicted by everone. The other starting corner is injured and their backups are not good. Instead of trying to find help for the battered secondary, Jerry Jones adds another big name/contract to the offense in Roy Williams--in the process, he gives him 7 million more in guaranteed money than TO, who will surely bring this up during the implosion because he thinks, and rightfully so, that he is still the better receiver. Felix jones, the all world rookie running back, might miss a month. Did I miss anything? Oh yes, the punter, the pro bowl punter, is out for the year as well.

So, what do you think? Will the Cowboys qualify for the playoffs this year and have a chance to win their first playoff game since the mid nineties? You make the call!

awwwwww....you sound upset stylo. i feel for you. if my team hadn't won a playoff game in 12 years, then looked--on paper -- as if it would go undefeated, then proceeded to shit to bet in october, i'd feel the same way.

    go get some rest, nancy.

    this is great....ZING! ZING!

Joe Banner took a few shots at the already reeling Dallas Cowboys today when he told the Eagles' web site he would would not have traded three draft picks in 2009, including a first- and third-rounder, to the Detroit Lions for wide receiver Roy Williams. "I mean, they paid a lot,'' said Banner, who confirmed the Eagles (3-3) did attempt to trade for Kansas City Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez prior to the Oct. 14 deadline. "Time will tell. I wouldn't pay that much for a player like that.'' The injury-ravaged Cowboys (4-3) also sent a sixth-round selection and picked up Detroit's seventh rounder next April for Williams, a 2006 Pro Bowler who was thrown to only twice in Sunday's 34-14 loss to the St. Louis Rams and did not register a catch. While addressing the team's approach to improving the roster, the Birds' president took yet another swipe at the Cowboys. "Our goal is to win a Super Bowl, forget win a playoff game, which is something they are still working on,'' Banner said. Dallas, which defeated the Eagles 41-37 Sept. 15, have not won a playoff game since 1996.

I'm a huge Iggles fan and Dallas hater but....we haven't won a single Super Bowl

I'm getting a little tired of making the playoffs and not winning the Championship...this Organ-I-zation has to change its philosphy and start bringing in some more weapons and not having $20mil under the cap !

agreed. its just hillarious to me when i think of all the popularity the cowboys have, and all the big contracts, and all of that endless hype....yet not a single playoff win to show for themselves since i was in fucking high school....and i just turned 30! lol

  • Cowboys are going all the way and are much better than the Giants. That's what everyone said at the start of the season. I guess having ex-cons and a bunch of guys with HUGE egos on your team doesn't translate into wins. Who Knew?

Is this some big revelation?? From what I recall when he first got hurt they said he was out 4 weeks...the whole deal with him throwing and all before the Rams game was him trying to see if he could go, which he couldn't. Nothing new here.
