Oh man I'm soo pissed off :(

I work in a supermarket and some guy asked me for change. He had like a pile of twenty euro notes so i changed €300 worth of twenties for fifty euro notes for the guy. Then he goes, "no, no, no, I want smaller change!" so I said i didn't have any and he asked for his money back. So I gave it to him and he gave me the fifties back. He left the store pretty quickly then I realised that he only gave me €200 back :( He was gone before security got there!

Grr I fecking hate when shit like that happens :(

sorry I had to vent! Has anything like that ever happened to you guys? if so, what happened after? I was pretty worried that i'd lose my job, but luckily I didn't!

Yep, when I was working at the courtesy desk of a grocery store I got scammed on two separate occasions two separate ways. But both were change scams. It was completely idiotic of me and there's really nothing you can do except take responsibility for it and learn to let it not happen again. It sucks though... I know the feeling man.

yeah it's a pain in the ass. Well apparently this happens pretty frequently in the stores around my neighbourhood so I really should have known! :(

My brother's actually down there for the weekend. I firmly expect him to come back with multiple horror stories. :D

Just kidding*. I never got scammed like that when I worked in Dunnes Stores, but that's cos they have a strict "don't open the till unless people are paying for things" policy.

    *Sorta :p

    My sister sent me this:

    90# On Your Telephone

I dialed '0', to check this out, asked the operator, who confirmed that this was correct
so please pass it on . . . (l also checked out Snopes.com. This is true, and also applies to cell phones!)

PASS ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW

I received a telephone call last evening from an individual identifying himself as an AT&T Service Technician (could also be Telus) who was conducting a test on the telephone lines.=2 0He stated that to complete the test I should touch nine(9), zero(0), the pound sign (#), and then hang up. Luckily, I was suspicious and refused.
Upon contacting the telephone company, I was informed that by pushing 90#, you give the requesting individual full=2 0access to your telephone line, which enables them to place long distance calls billed to your home phone number.

I was further informed that this scam has been originating from many local jails/prisons DO NOT press 90# for ANYONE.

The GTE Security Department requested that I share this information with EVERYONE I KNOW.

After checking with Verizon they also said it was true, so do not dial 90# for anyone !!!!! PLEASE HIT THAT FORWARD BUTTON AND PASS THIS ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW!!!!

I think I was scammed once when I worked at Target. I worked in Electronics and people normally don't bring items to the register there that aren't video game related. So someone came up with tons of items, mostly cleaners and stuff. I knew the drawer was getting low on change and they paid with a 100, and when giving change back they wanted to pay with two 50's instead of the 100 when in the middle of the transaction. It got really confusing and I remember giving them back most of the money they had handed me, but in my head it sort of made sense and they were talking me through it and made it sound even more like it made sense.

I took my time figuring out the change and thought I got it mostly right, but I felt unsure and was scared about it. No one ever said anything when they checked the drawer at the end of the day though, so who knows.
