for $693 dollars worth of pizza/soda/salad delivery.....4 guys....a couple blocks, in a snowy mix in NYC....and then up the elevator to the 32nd floor....carrying pizzas for our 'busy season pizza fridays.' and sure, all paid for by the firm.

i share for dunky....b/c i know how he loves tipping. :D is it OK to tip delivery people, especially in the snow? :p honestly, only a 17.5% tip, i really think it should be 20%, but not my call........

is it scary that i thought of dunky when a few of the staff who handled the order were conferring on the bill, tabulating the tip? :p

    $50?
how much you tip your delivery people? i tip all the same...restuarants...delivery...hairdressers...etc.....20%. maybe a wee bit more in incliment weather. i agree, should've been more to be 20%....but especially b/c of the weather. however, not my call. i think $140 total - $35 a guy would've been good.

:: slaps calculator :: bad calculator for giving me the wrong numbers :) Yeah $140 would have been nice but I'm sure they weren't disappointed with $30 a piece.

well i think last week we UNDER-tipped...or so i was told...so i hope it helped!
*checks pizza for spit* :p eh, it was yummy! :D

yes, truly...i think $30 is pretty sweet, but yea...given the weather especially...think the firm could've ponied up another $20. eh well, was the EA's call to make.

and liz........i can't recall specific examples, but hell yes...if i see a familar usename in ANYthing, i immediately think of that person.

i personally think that those guys shouldn't have been tipped... but thats just me.. i mean, why? they drove somewhere with some fucking pizzas.. how hard can that possible be? ... tipping a neurosurgeon.. that i can understand.. a guy on a bike? fuck him... should have studied harder

    *tongue firmly in cheek*

the thing i don't get about tipping is why is it based on how much the bill is? is the waiter or delivery person doing extra work to bring you a $30 steak, compared to a $10 burger at the same restaurant?

the guy with the pizzas was doing the same amount of work with $700 worth of pizza as he would have with $300, but he makes $80 more. can't complain if you're the delivery guy. that's a huge amount of money for very little work.

for once, you get something right. ;)

and...contrary to your belief in all us lazy americans :p......the delivery guys actually WALK over with the pizzas...and in the snow....and it's like 20+ pizzas to carry......so 5 pizzas each, plus the sodas/salads/etc.

but yes, i thought of you today dunk, so feel special! :D hahaha.

actually, no. $700 worth of pizza WEIGHS a lot more to carry over than $300. although the $30 steak compared to a $10 steak...sure, then that would make sense to compare, and i agree overall. more expensive restuarants are supposed to have a higher level of service, so perhaps that's why? and/or...sometimes when you have a big bill, it Is simply b/c larger party, more food, more clients...more work! so definitely deserving of a bigger tip!

and it was 4 guys, not just one....but still all carrying more!
