so, yesterday i come home after 3 days away on my pj tour - already did 3 shows and travel with hubby earlier in the week - and we go out to our fave italian place for a nice relaxing meal.

we are pretty well known by many of the staff there, always have great food, excellent service. we are served by one of our fave waitresses. we have a drink and dinner....have another drink. we ask for the check. the waitress looks genuinely surprised. so we laugh and ask why. so she mentions when she put in our drink order with the bartender, he 'recognizes' our order and asks if it's us. she says yes and he says 'she's always good for 4 drinks.' :o thus, surprised the waitress we are already done. hahaha.

i smile...say i just drove home from MA today....laugh, and say i don't always get 4. yikes. hell, sometimes we get a bottle of wine! :D i just thought, damn...the bartender thinks i am a lush. :p truly, i know i don't have a 'problem'....endulge but not too much - well except on tour ;) - but seriously was like...wow. hubby and i had a good laugh over it..........

No reason to be concerned. You're lucky to have such great service

One of my friends stated their surprise the other day that I sobered up and played the responsible, helpful friend when another friend of mine drank too much and got sick, because apparently it's not like me to "stop drinking before daybreak".

I wasn't concerned, just a bit indignant since it's not true :D It's not the first time I've been the sobering-up person and I can certainly stop before it gets light :p

You should have punched the bartender for being a wise-ass. Cheeky git :)

oh i know...thus the ';)' in the title. i just thought it was VERY funny, and yes...taken a bak, bit embarassed? :o

and yes, i think both the bartenders and the kitchen staff 'know me.' i think i am the only person to order a particular pasta dishe a particular way, so thus they know it's me. we have a similar thing at our fave mexican place. i LIKE the great familiarity and the excellent service, and yea...being 'regulars'...well taken care of but also makes us easy to serve, and sure...we are always appreciative. the whole scenario was said in humor, but yea.........:D

well evidently it must be because you're a lush too. ;)
    haha.

seriously, the title was all tongue in cheek. i was just surprised, and then amused...and hubby and i really got a good laugh over it. he drinks more than me, except when we are out to dinner. besides, it's not a nightly occurance...1-2 times a week at most. well within the confines of 'normal.' i know it';s suggested that women have no more than 1 drink a day, men 2...but cmon now, where's the fun in that? :p besides, i believe 5 drinks is considered 'binging'...so with 4...i am totally in the clear. ;)

Oh yeah I totally got it was tongue i cheek :). I will have a glass a wine w/ my dinner 3 or 4 times a week and sometimes if I go out I will indulge. And I have binged but not in a looong time...Im getting too old for that and do not bounce back like I did when I was younger.

I think you have a prob. if you are drinking more than 4 drinks most days of the week.

btw - i LOVE wine with dinner! i love it, period, but most especially with dinner. yummm. and i feel healthy drinking it, so win-win! :D lushes unite!
