Does anyone here watch japenese anime? Recently I finished watching Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam and it was fucking incredible!!! I'm primarily a fan of the Gundam franchise but I also like Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Generator Gawl, Outlaw Star, Robotech, and some other stuff...

So, anyone else wanna discuss anime?

The Dragonball series was great, but GT's story was weak and they dragged Z on far too long.

I was thinking the same thing for Z if it would just have been a bit shorter it would have been better.

GT was pretty good imo, artwork was definitely better though

I've been a fan of the Gundam series for awhile, and absolutely love Neon Genesis Evangelion. Have you ever seen Trigun? Also one of my fav's. Plus, I'm a sucker for Hayoi Miyazaki (Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away) and Satoshi Kon (especially Perfect Blue, Tokyo Godfathers, and Millenium Actress)

The american version of DBZ is dragged out way to long. Remember the episodes where people were about to fight but it fucking took forever to throw a punch? That's because they had to cut so much out of the japanese episodes that they had to draw them out to have them fit in the alloted time slot. It was pretty fucking annoying.

Inyuahsa is a series that gets drawn out way to long. They never, ever get anything done in that series. Hell, the last episode is notorious for being shitty.

Ninja Scrolls is an awesome anime film.

I'm a fan of the Studio Ghibli films and like Ghost in the Shell and Cowboy Bebop. Used to be a big Dragonball Z fan. GT was largely shite.

Me to!! I loved that series! I love Bleach also, and I admit to watching Naruto, but I can't stand to watch the American dubbed ones.

a little..more the big name ones..i don't go digging for stuff really.

    Vampire Hunter D
    Ghost in the Shell
    Akira
    Ninja Scroll..

they are all cool, but never really pushed me to get in to it much more...
  • Ex wife loved the stuff.

I would just say, Cowboy bebop and Ninja Scroll. There are some good series out there for sure.

Oh, and subtitles only. Dubbed is crap.

1960s Speed Racer is always good for a laugh, with that eight-million mph dialogue.

Dragonball series, Fist of the North Star and Saint Seiya (Knights of the zodiac) were my absolute favourite animes as child.
