Beards

Anyone here have one?

I just grew one for the first time in my life. It's now fully in there, and I have even kept it up and sort of trimmed it and shaped it nicely. I plan on keeping it a while.

It's not unattractive. My girlfriend says she likes it a lot, and I have gotten several compliments. It's to the point where I sort of feel sentimental about my beard.

My face always has neatly trimmed scruff all over, but I don't know if that qualifies as a beard.

Sort of, but for the first time, I actually let mine come in all the way. To be honest, I didn't think I would like it this much. I feel like this is the way I was meant to be in some ways.

Beards are kinda high maintenance if you don't want to look like a bum, or Eddie Vedder. I've tried it a number of times, you get past the itchy stage and you reach the 'unkempt bum' stage, people just think you're going to rob them all the time :D
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....

So you see the advantage? People are always throwing their wallets at me and then running off.

I got through the Eddie Vedder/bum stage, and last week was the itchy Pavarotti stage. Now, I am in the Ben Bernanke stage, and it sort of makes me look wiser. I may become a professor now.

I went about 10 months of not shaving, just a trim above the lips so I could eat food :D

I loved having a beard. I don't really like shaving.

Otherwise i've had many 1 monthers. as in not shave for a month. then shave.

Sometimes women would come up to me and ask why I'm growing a beard. women I didnt even know!

trouble is, it's closely followed by the Peter Suttcliffe stage....and you don't wanna follow that career route.

Don't get me wrong, I'm hardly a regular shaver, once a week maybe...and that's only become a staple since I started getting grey in it....

  • Never got past the Eddie Vedder look myself, akthough I dod have that half the time just because I hate shaving. For a few days during the summer I trimmed it all up and had a nice tidy Goatee. People said I looked like Ed Norton when I had that.

  • My fiance goes between hot scruff and a hot beard, and I love both of them. He is not allowed to fully shave.

I just don't trust anything that bleeds for five days and doesn't die.
  • I've got a beard.

I trim it pretty low twice a week. I think that is how it looks best.

I never shampooed mine. It started to smell after awhile. Eventually shaved it.
  • My hubby recently grew a beard for his nephew, who was born at 24 weeks.
He started this "thing" with himself and claimed to not shave until his nephew was out of hospital....

He has been in hospital for about 5 months now, and my hubby closely resembled a Sasquatch. The worst thing is, is that he's a "ranga" and his beard was orange

Thank god nephew has been given the all clear and I now have a younger and more kissable hubby.

Beards look cool on people, say, like Ed or Stone...but they get to a certain length and then its all down hill from there

I've attempted before. Some weeks I can get pass the itchy stage, but I've never once made it past the 'bum' stage. It looks horrible, worse that I think most peoples in between stage would.
