What sort of sick fuck thinks they should stick something in my friend's drink and make her end up in hospital?

Discretion is the better part of valor.....never turn your back on strangers or allow them unhindered access to your beverage. Scum make life tough on the rest of us.

If it wasn't for the fact that she is now ok and as cheerful as ever and even apologising for me having to spend the day looking after her, I would go back to the pub, stand at the bar waiting for anything suspicious and beat the shit out of the first person I see even touch someone else's drink.

    Scum.

    *breathes slowly*
    People make me so angry.

Seriously, I was so pissed off and worried waiting for the ambulance that I nearly punched some guy who was mouthing off and laughing at her because he thought she just couldn't handle her drink. Ignorant wanker. Any time I am worried about my friends I just get so worked up. Torture is a possibility during these times.

but she's ok, thank god. she even kept us entertained in A&E while we waited for the doctor. Pretty cheerful for someone who was fine one minute and was acting like she'd been chugging cyanide the next.

i can understand why you'd be so upset, anytime any of my friends are hurt i feel it as my own pain. maybe call the pub and give them a heads-up about what happened, just to keep an eye on folks there?

There are some scummy people about, that's for sure. Watch your drinks, or have someone watch them if you can.

They already know, it was one of the barmen who actually phoned the ambulance. They were great. I thought they were just going to treat her like some drunk student who couldn't handle her drink and tell us to piss off but they gave us a table in the garden, turned one of the patio heaters on, brought out a bucket, some bread and water and checked up every few minutes until the ambulance came. So I guess some people are alright... :) I owe them both a drink.

As for a heads-up for their customers, I'm going vigilante if i ever see anything dodgy going on in there again, not that my friend will be back in there with me in a hurry.

I know... it just makes me SO angry. My friend seemed horrified afterwards to find that she had arrived at the hospital by ambulance, she couldn't remember that at all, and kept apologising for us having to be there but I was just glad to make sure she was ok. I would've felt awful if she'd gone home 10 minutes before, like she'd intended to just before she got ill and had been by herself on the tube or something. She was terrified because she couldn't work out what was wrong. There are some really sick bastards out there...

Who gives a shit? ignore them. Just because they aren't getting any...

maybe they were just wondering what you (underaged) were doing next to the bar?

but J, what happened to your friend, that sucks. one time we were out (and I do mean outdoors, on a beach) drinking with a bunch of friends and the same happened to one of them. it was a very scary situation..
stuff like this not only makes you hate the scummy human beings more but also appreciate the good ones in your life too!
