To call in sick from work, and I'm not even sick? Guys at work do it all the time, but I'm still the new guy having only been there for 4 months now.

I got nothing to do all day......how wonderful.

Well, you already called in sick so it'd be rather stupid to feel bad about it now. Enjoy your day. You've got an entire week left to feel bad.

Where I work, we get paid time off. Sick days are rolled up into vacation. On occasion, I use one just to use it.

Being stressed out is a perfectly good reason to call out. Then again I get 44 paid days off a year so I'm pretty liberal with my reasons.

I see nothing wrong with a mental health day. Enjoy it!

Nope, sorry, not me. Well the real reason is that my work basically forced me to work a day with out pay. Not to get too complicated, but my pay period ended on a Tuesday, and the new one started Thursday....don't ask. SO I figured they owe me.

Nothing wrong with it. Where I work, we do not have a set number of sick days. You just take one when you need it.

Haha. I'm thinking the same thing. But I definitely consider calling in sick pretty much every Monday.......

My problem is I never really consider it until it is too late. Plus, lots of work to get done on Monday and Tuesday so it doesn't really behoove me to play hooky on a Monday because that would make Tuesday a double bitch

  • Calling in on a Monday? You better really be sick with a note if you work for me, otherwise come review time I say "tends to call in sick on Mondays and Fridays in the summer."
    Not a good idea.

I'm one of those people who believes that as long as you get your work finished on time, it shouldn't matter.

although that depends what job you have, lol.
