Anyone "Mailing In" the Last Few Days of Work before Christmas

My productivity (which was high) has now sunk to well.....pretty much zero it seems....so hard to work before leaving on vacation for 2.5 weeks....only 1.5 more days of work.....pretty much my entire office is mailing in these last days....

    this is pretty much how it's been since october 15th, the end of busy season. :p sure, some work...and always done accurately/efficently...but yea.....just the slow time around the holidays. it will all change soon enough so i am just enjoying the boredom. :D haha.


    sadly, the firm is NOT closing the week between christmas and new years.....so i get 2 4-day weekends instead. almost all ARE using vacation days to make it a full vacation, but as my husband can't get that time off, doesn't make sense for me to waste em. instead, i am taking this thursday/friday off.....and then don't go back to work until next wednesday. :) i am sure i will have nothing to do those 3 days, haha, and then a 4 day weekend for the new year. so still not too shabby. after that, things shall start to pick up, and come march it'll be insane! so i am fully embracing this nice long calm before the storm. ;)

    it is the busiest month of the year for me at work. and i have zero motivation and so much to do. slacking BIG TIME!

    no one in my office seems to realize it's the holidays at all. I've been told I'm going to be working all night next week (I'm thinking, I'm um, next week is christmas...). They are all men, and they are the type of people who do not trouble themselves with such trival things as holidays.

    My boss just asked if it was time to go yet. So yeah, I think the holiday mentality is setting in. It is nice though, although I am not on vacation, to have a five-day weekend starting Saturday.

    That was my plan starting yesterday, but I ended up having the most productive day I've had all month... I guess setting low expectations is a good strategy. :)
